Yes, extremely. And you certainly don't play piano. I'd probably be very very sad if I had such awful sausagefingers.

Pardon? I was merely pointing out that Fatty Boomboom's hands are far too stubby to play piano effectively. I said I'd be sad with those sorts of fingers because I wouldn't be able to play piano well. Did it come across as a "gotcha?"

I dare you to show me a real """Pot Pie""" (whatever that it) that looks anything like picrel!

I haven't had that one specifically, but Marie Calendar's pot pies do indeed look like the package when baked or even just microwaved. They're easily the best frozen food I've ever had and the only one I buy other than this Chinese brand of bao I like

    it is a closed structure.
Hot air first has to heat the outside to then purely by heat transfer melt and cook the solid block of ice in the center.
Microwaves can enter the structure a few cm deep and reach the inner high water content. Water reacts intensively to microwaves, once a bit of the ice has melted a chain reaction occurs in which this liquid water can more efficiently liquify more water - and then you have even MORE liquid water which can... Water gets heated by microwaves super quickly and then only the thin outer layer remains.
In other words: In the oven you have to cook it from outside to inside, in the microwave you can cook it from the inside to outside.

      >In other words: In the oven you have to cook it from outside to inside, in the microwave you can cook it from the inside to outside.
      This.
Marie Callendar's has very similar results when cooking in the microwave vs oven, must be the reflective lined pan that crisps it a bit around the bottom and sides. Once you learn if you need 1-3 extra minutes or less minutes for your own microwave, you have a nearly oven perfect pie in a fraction of the time. Of course, if you are cooking for a family, don't do them back to back in the microwave, just park them on a cookie sheet and bake them at once and wait it out, because it's slightly nicer on the top crust that way.

Microwaves must be like 3700 degrees.

    >radiant heat needing to penetrate a pre-cooked and then frozen crust in order to heat up the filling inside
    >microwaves that heat things up by moving around water molecules
Yeah, shit's crazy. The sad part is frozen microwave shit almost never comes out better in the oven. They just put those instructions on the box because there might be some 95 year old out there who doesn't have a microwave.

Nope. The MC pot pie crusts are entirely raw.

I used to work at Publix and for awhile the Marie Callender's chicken pot pie was tied with Dinty Moore Beef Stew as the most unhealthy thing you could find in the entire store. They're so good, though. Can't find the full-sized pie anymore. It probably killed people.

      >Can't find the full-sized pie anymore.
The one-pounder? Or was there a larger size? Anyway, the one pound pot pie is now a 15/16 pound pot pie IE a .9375 pound pot pie IE 15oz.

It was like a full pie sized, like 8" or 10" or whatever. Not sure of the actual weight.

Oh, wow. Yeah, I had no idea.
But those pot pies are something like 1k+ calories each. Sharing them between two people is fine but one to one person would be overkill.
Is that what you meant by "unhealthy?"

Just based on serving size. We would go around the store when we were bored and try to find interesting items. I just remember as far as saturated fat (i think) it was Marie Callendar's chicken pot pie and Dinty Moore Beef Stew which were the worst. Calories were high, too, as was sodium.
