bolognese is usually served with linguine or something similarly wide and thick. Or even better, a short tubular pasta like rigatoni. Spaghetti is too thin for decent bolognese!
Heres a decent plate of bolognese for you american dipshits, I'm disgusted with this thread honestly, how can you eat all that crap.

My rule is that you can tell how good a restaurant is by the quality of their spaghetti w/meatballs. Partly because I like it, and partly because if they can frick it up that badly, then they probably frick everything else up.

yes, it's the most basic Italian-American dish. if a restaurant can't get that right it makes a person question if they can do anything right

this looks awful, watery low quality sugary sauce in cheap pasta with poorly concieved meatballs, americans trully cant cook

Fortunately, mine does a great job.

this is actually better than the other one, sauce looks better but it isnt properly mixed and meatball is a meme
overall id rather have plain pasta than the amerimutt version

Italian-American Americans are as Italian as an American accent is British. You can see where they may be coming from, but to the people who are actually from the country that some American's grandparents may have come from, they'll still be foreigners. This is also how I feel about German-American "Germans" who barely speak German and have never been to Germany.

You can call Spaghetti with meatballs "Italian-American" but they're definitely an American thing.

the meatball isn't even browned! it looks like boiled meat. They microwaved to reheated that guaranteed. Thats sauce from a bucket and
            >kids coloring book and vinyl tablecloth
oh frick you're at a non-chain family italian restaurant but its operated by a chinese man and the cooks are all mexican aren't they?

The problem with that is spaghetti and meatballs a lowest common denominator dish. If you are at a place that does pasta, its often deliberately on the bland side because it and basic mac n cheese are what old people whose parents boiled meat order.

I never test a restaurant with spaghetti and meatballs, I just order the item that looks tastiest to me.
