Anyone successfully gone Vegan without losing weight?

I feel like vegan diet would be good for me, but also I feel like I would struggle to maintain my weight.
Someone I know lost several kgs after going vegan, so I'm scared to ever try it

No eat meat. People lose weight becoming vegans because they eat inedible stuff. You also get a sickly Grey look after a few years.

Some people go vegan and get morbidly obese.
    Mashed potatoes are vegan.
    Spaghetti is vegan.
    Potato chips are vegan.
    PB+J sandwiches are vegan.

people lose weight when they go vegan because they don't know what the frick they're doing

deep fried potatoes are vegan but that's not what vegan fad dieters actually eat

if you want to go vegan then eat rice and beans and lentils and don't skimp on the oil when cooking vegetables
don't just eat broccoli and shit

also the only reason to go vegan is for moral reasons. meat is good for you in moderation.
if you're doing this for health reasons you're moronic.

so for health, the best thing to do is just reduce meat consumption?

the best thing for your health is to cut out ultra-processed foodlike products.
and to count your calories so you're not overeating.
        and exercise.

The best thing to do for your health is to cook all your own meals and to pay attention to what you put in them.

Reducing meat consumption (without necessarily becoming vegan) is just a natural extension of that when you see that most of your prior meat consumption came from slop, and that you save so much money by prioritizing grains, legumes and veggies.

Yes, but some meats are healthier than others. Fish (not too much predatory fish like tuna) and non-fatty white meat are better. Red and fatty meat are worse. Processed meat (bacon, sausage etc.) is the worst

Meat isn't really even the problem if you're doing it from a heath perspective. Cutting dairy out of your diet is huge. You'd be surprised how much better you feel if you stopped consuming shit that came out of a cows breasts.
If I didn't like cheese so damn much I would probably go no dairy.

Start by going vegetarian and then slowly phasing out stuff until you finally go vegan. If you notice you're losing weight as a vegetarian then you can course correct much easier

I'm currently gaining weight with multiple servings of vegan trail mix every day. It's over.

wow, vegan peanuts, vegan oats, and vegan raisins? no shit?

The average trail mixer puts milk chocolate candies in their trail mix. Where have you been? Not on the trails, I can see.

you put the word vegan in front of them so that means they must be healthy right?

if you want to lose weight then drop the boneheaded notion that there are "good foods" and "bad foods", and if you just eat the good foods then you will lose weight.

no motherfricker. you will lose weight when you eat less calories. that's literally it. you can eat fricking ice cream and pizza and still lose weight

eating enough calories is very easy if you eat things that have lots of fat, like nuts. you can also cheat and just eat a lot of fried stuff

Yes. I'm vegan, whole food plant based. I don't consume oil or anything processed. I eat around 2000 calories a day and haven't lost weight. I've had extra energy because there's no oil and barely any fat in my diet so I used that to build muscle which I think keeps the pounds on. I was healthy before though too, even when I was eating meat I didn't consume oil just things like baked chicken breast and fish.

    >I feel like Vegan diet would be good for me
Stopped reading right there. I disagree. A vegan diet isn't really good for anyone. You'll be missing out on tons of nutrients, which animal products are full of and in greater quantities, plus meat contains things like creatine and carnitine which can't be found at all in plant foods

anyone able to help me out?
Just went vegetarian about 3 weeks ago and have basically lost all my energy and recovery is terrible. I have done nothing to my diet except remove chicken breast and started eating more tofu/tempeh to reach my protein goals. Still eat eggs and greek yoghurt.

Any thoughts? I'm wondering if the b12/iron in chicken is the reason, but I always thought chicken had hardly any of that compared to red meat which I hardly ever ate.

Eat more carbs. That's what gives most people energy

Just buy some multivitamins and eat those for a bit, if you feel better then it's due to nutrients. If you still feel shitty you have cancer.

I've been unintentionally vegan before because I couldn't really afford meat, cheese or eggs and it was fine. The problem with vegans is it's a lifestyle choice most of the time and not a diet based choice so they eat the worst processed shit
