Here are some examples. I'll get you more videos of people from other cultures doing the same (the Andiamo guy is Asian of some sort but idk what).

We don't HATE vegetables. We love vegetables. We just don't subsist entirely off vegetables. The closer your cuisine is to poverty the more vegetable-heavy it is. I'm Cajun by ancestry, so the food of my people is almost entirely vegetables, plus a little protein thrown in. Whatever you happen to catch that day: meat, fish, shellfish, reptile, whatever you have. Creole food, on the other hand, is rich-people food, city food, and is more protein-forward.

      1. Government subsidized meat more than most other places
      2. Hit harder by microwave culture than most countries since we invented it
      3. Siege mentality that makes people buy a month's worth of food for long term storage rather than buying opportunistically and seasonally
      4. Sour grapes mentality like , "if I can't have good food it's because good food is for poor people"

There's a lot of money to be made convincing people that there's going to be this unforeseen event that will kill everyone and they'll be the last person on earth and their stash of rice a roni and toilet paper will make them powerful warlords

I sincerely believe it is spread by the same people who are trying to destroy anything resembling a democratic socialist regime. Instead of trying to improve society somewhat, the people are told that nothing *can* be fixed, so their best hope is to hope the entire system gets reset, by dangling this mystery scenario as an alternative to just raising taxes on the ultra wealthy and fixing the fricking post office

on thinking about it, it is probably because it is common for people to live 20min plus from the closest grocery, and shopping in modern america is a hellish experience, so it just makes sense people would by in bulk so they have to go to the store less. we also have a culture, at least in the city, of not wasting time.

Vegetables are an "acquired taste". Meaning people don't actually like them and have to gaslight themselves into thinking they do.

Bullshit. When my son was a baby, he used to lean forward for things like mashed cauliflower, pureed eggplant, and especially pureed carrot (babies fricking love carrots) and strained peas. He would make faces while eating things like spinach but would still open his mouth and lean forward to eat more. He did NOT like mashed broccoli. He'd move his little head back or turn his face to the side to avoid eating it. We starting mixing the broccoli with cauliflower 1:3 brocc:cauli and that still didn't get him eating but 1:5 worked and we started to wean him into broccoli as an "acquired taste" until he was comfortable with eating 50/50 caulibrocc but other vegetables he enjoyed. We never did manage to get him to enjoy broccoli on its own before he was old enough to chew food so I think it's just a factor of broccoli needing to be overcooked to frick and back to make it suitable for a baby. He eats broccoli now, and happily, but still doesn't like when it's overcooked.

Rednecks who shop at Walmart and have an aversion to anything remotely healthy aren't representative of America as a whole. You're creating a false dichotomy by only comparing the next to lowest-of-the-low with the lowest-of-the-low groups of humans in America. You know who you didn't include in your list of Black folk and rednecks? Regular people that live in, among and everywhere in-between these dregs. You're magnifying the most extreme in a society and equating it to the whole. It isn't a valid move.
