Sloppa has been a thing here for years. So has Big Papa Sloppa. You don't know shit, stop calling everything you don't understand reddit.

I know that sloppa has been a thing here, but the big papa addition is pure reddit garbage. As usual it doesn't mean anything either. It's just a le heckin wholesome way to say the narwhal bingus

Frick off. I'm so sick of morons like you popping into threads to contribute nothing other than to accuse people of acting like they're on Reddit. I don't know what Reddit likes and I don't fricking care because I'm not completely obsessed with Reddit like you are. Make a post worth reading for a change or shut the frick up.

I'm planning on making a 15 bean soup with chicken breasts over rice tonight for the missus and I. She's been working hard, so we'll get her a nice quick meal to share with some beers. Maybe watch one of her animes or play some D&D too.

          >HAMBEENS
Those b***hes are great. Throw away the seasoning pack, though. Regular or Cajun style, they both suck ass.

They also sell split peas with ham boullion, and lentils with "garlic and herb" seasoning. I'd like to try those.

i made some sloppa for my meal prep this week.

in my big dutch oven I put:

    1 bell pepper
    1 onion
    1 sweet potato
    1lb ground turkey
    olive oil + garam masala

seared those jon's for 10 min, then threw in some trader joes green curry simmering sauce
    3 cups of water
    1.5 cups of quinoa
simmered for 20 min til the grains were done.
    shazam.

super easy, 1 pot, 3 servings. lunches are done for mon-weds.

Sloppa for this week is ground chicken, serrano/jalapeno/bell peppers, kidney beans, and yellow rice that I made using chicken broth instead of water

That's hardly a sloppa. That's proper rice with other stuff. A sloppa is sloppy, and that's hardly sloppy.

I've been wanting to make some spicy ass Indian lentils, but I can't find curry leaves or hot peppers that aren't jalapenos anywhere for some reason.

This was the last really good sloppa I made

That looks good. Holy hell I want that. I love frickin lentils.

Those are split peas, my lentils don't look as good. Maybe I should use a stick blender to thicken then up some.

Curry leaves are more of a South Indian thing. There are tons of North Indian recipes that don't use them. You can get great Indian tastes without them. If you do want some, your local Indian grocery should have some along with a variety of peppers. Jalapeños won't give you a traditional taste, but they still work fine in Indian food. They sell them at the Indian grocery store I go to, so plenty of Indians seem just fine with using them. If you're not pretty familiar with Indian food you probably won't realize the taste is a bit different from the traditional flavor. I tend to use jwala peppers for fresh peppers when I make Indian food, but Serrano peppers give a fairly traditional taste too. https://www.pepperscale.com/jwala-pepper/

I'm not really concerned with making authentic masoor daal, I just have been craving some spicy, nuke-your-butthole-level lentils.
