Eat a spoonful and tell me it has no taste.

        Pic is not related

It tastes like garlic you moronic shine.

You're stupid and possibly of the homosexual persuasion. It isn't as good as fresh, but it's fine and worth it to many for the convenience.

it takes like half a jar of the pre minced garlic to get a similar flavor as a clove of fresh garlic. I used it for a while but it's just so weak, I'd rather skip it entirely, and whatever bullshit oils and preservatives they added to it, before wrapping it in plastic. Using fresh garlic takes like an extra 30-90 seconds, it's really not some great burden.

Pre minced, maaaaaybe better than nothing, but still an expensive and needlessly wasteful silly thing

Their garlic is the cheapest bleached Chinese ditch garlic findable. I obtain mine from a local farm and it's the best plus ramps too.

hate that low quality shit. I wonder if it is actually bleach that I was tasting.
      >Buy some hummus
      >they don't have the kind I want
      >buy the generic brand with "roasted mince garlic"
      >the minced garlic tastes like cleaning chemicals
      >can only figure they mixed the oil all throughout the hummus for "flavor" and the whole batch tastes like a chemistry experiment.
Frick. The worst part is I bought a second container but it's "Roasted Red Pepper" of the same brand hummus so hopefully it doesn't taste awful.

It was probably citric acid you were tasting. I used jarred garlic on pizza once and hated it because of the citric acid, tastes weird.

If I killed myself I would be free, but using pre-minced garlic would only make me want to kill myself. Believe it or not there is a somewhat significant difference between the two.

Jarlic is fricking disgusting. Some anon who made a cook a long tomato sauce thread the other day said that minced jarred garlic is superior to freshly minced garlic in pasta sauce and I'm still seething.

I use jarlic all the time. It only works in things that are already slightly tart though. Otherwise you cant hide the acid. And I always rinse it first.

Free from what? Chopping? It's not so bad. Do you cook, or just plop jarlic on frozen meals? Frozen meals would free you even more, OP. No shame in being true to your nature.

Except frozen meals would actually have a tangible deterious effect on the quality of the meal and its taste, where as using jarlic vs. any normal piece of garlic at any chain grocery store would not, despite what the pretentious europoors up above say. Especially if it's just a sauteeing base.
      >IB4 seething pretentious Europoors tell me I'm wrong while I ignore them and eat my homemade meal which is more delicious than anything 98% of all my ancestors could have ever conceived of using the Wal-Mart generic bulk brand garlic.

protip: use a cheese grater for fresh garlic. works just as well as a garlic press, takes the same amount of time, and is waaay easier to clean

          >but you remembered to buy a jar of ancient mystery garlic
          yeah ok lmao

Garlic in a jar isn't the same as fresh. Ginger on the other hand is a different story.
