I just learned about this, and I'm learning now it doesn't apply so much to fruits and starches (i.e, bread, taters). But wtf? What plants are actually worth eating then? Can u even digest beans? I don't wanna waste my money on food I can't even digest.
Dietary fiber is fermented in the colon and turned into Short-chain fatty acid which is then absorbed by your body.
>"Rodents raised in a sterile environment and lacking in gut flora need to eat 30% more calories just to remain the same weight as their normal counterparts."
It's good that the fibre doesn't get digested because then it's able to clean out your poo chutes as it goes through them. If you've ever seen a cat eating grass it's for the same reason
Could I just eat grass instead of vegetables?
No it tastes like shit
Learn to ferment them. You're delegating part of the digestion process to a micro-organism that you can eat.
Helps hold liquids and prevent anal-leakage, it's why gays are mostly vegetarian.
Worth it by what metric? Nutritionally you can get everything you need from animal foods. Just eat the fruits and vegetables you enjoy. If you're worried about digestion/nutrition you can soak and ferment certain things
You can't digest the cellulose but you can still get nutrients from plants
>Can't Digest Vegetables/Plants???
Oh boy another shill thread trying to demonize plant foods as always
>u will eat the bugs
no frick off
Stupid vegan monkey
what special type of moronation do you have to go through to somehow advocate against eating vegetables.
Some vegetables are toxic like spinach
>Some vegetables are toxic like spinach
Oxygen radicals causes DNA damage therefore it's toxic, stop breathing now
well if you cant digest them theres no point
I was a vegetarian for two years
You can't digest the cellulose, but plants aren't 100% cellulose. You're still digesting some of it.
its for clean poops
you should eat just enough fiber to create some healthy turds but not too much to mess up your gut flora
I basically only eat meat, rice, eggs, onions, and seasonings / sauces
please get a basic education
I did and they didnt teach me this. Arent 'nutrition facts' for veggies basically lies then? can i actually digest the protein in brocoli?
