Coffee for pleasure. Tea for business. Strong tea contains theanine in enough quantities to offset the twitchiness of the caffeine and is easier on the stomach but a really nice cup of coffee is truly amazing with relatively little work since even cheap appliances are pretty moron proof.

Coffee is wonderfully pungent but I really can’t stand the twitchiness or how violently it makes me need to take a shit. Tea is the superior beverage for me.

      this but the complete opposite.
I have 3 cups of coffee in the morning to get myself ready for work, then come home to a nice cup of tea before bed.

Coffee feels like a little event, and it's very satisfying to spend a few minutes in the morning concocting an excellent cuppa. It's also a better pairing with food than tea is. But tea is easy, healthy, and still fairly cheap (unless you have a weakness for authentic LJ, DHP, LBZ or something); I can and do drink it all day long.
Tea is also absurdly diverse compared to coffee, or to any other crop. It's gotta be my pick.

Nobody will care, but recently stopped coffee after being an addict for years and am swapping to matcha tea. Don't even know if it was the caffeine or just the flavor and feeling of drinking a tasty hot beverage on a cold morning, but I'm sick of the shits coffee gives me, and my teeth aren't too great from the staining, either.

NTA but I'll be a little angry if mate actually becomes mainstream in "the West." Right now I can drink it every day and spend three or four hour's worth of wages on an entire year's supply. I hope the bitterness keeps it niche here in America so it stays a cheap commodity.
