The ones in the cabinet are right-side-up. The ones on the bar are upside-down.

Up. I have cabinets and a clean home.

the purpose of putting them down is to keep mice, bugs, and dust out of them. if you have no rodent, insect, or filth problem then it doesnt really matter.

1st worlder reporting in. I also keep them in the cupboard right side up

Yeah, but then you're putting the rim of your cup (that your lips touch) on the base of the cupboard where the bugs walk. It's safer to leave it up.

I understand what you are saying. However, I find the possibility of larger surface area direct contact with them scaling the sides and walking around the bottom of the cups to be more objectionable to secondary shared contact of the lip alone.

I don't get bugs walking around in my cupboards. They have other priorities. Besides, it's not even a consideration during multiple months of the year. Dust is the bigger problem.

They dont need to be sealed to keep dust out
You desperately need to fix something in your house if your cupboards are getting dusty with the doors closed

How old is your house? Do you live in a modern apartment? Most all old houses are dusty af, even with regular vent cleaning and stuff. Apartment people can never seem to wrap their heads around that.

Fellow Ausgay here, I put them down so I can stack other cups on top of them, with one cup on two cups.
But I feel like if I stacked them facing up then if one isn't sitting right it'll slip partially into one of the cups it's stacked on and knock shit over.

That probably won't happen, but I never turn down some free Peace of Mind.

      i fricking HATE that.
      >scented dishwashing liquid enters the fray...FUUUUUUU!!!
Even though I smoke, I have demonstrated to others time and again my taste and smell is FAR better than theirs.(I don't smoke packaged cigarettes, only natural and organic tobacco)
Same goes for fricking "Fabric softener", or fricking "Fresh Scent Bleach"..
That shit just covers up how dirty your clothes are buy making your,(-and everyone around you's,) Olfactory nerves attenuate to that godawful perfume.
I can't imagine how hellish it would be to live close to a Laundromat.

      Or...You're just a lazy slob?

I smoke marlboro 27 trash and not organic shit and I've demonstrated smell and taste being sharp as hell as well. I can name ingredients in food or tell a chick what perfume notes or w.e she's wearing better than my friends and family after like 15 years of smoking. I don't believe it kills your senses like morons say. My Mother said my smell sucks because I smoke and I'm the one that found a fricked outlet in their house that smelled faintly of electric fire. Also smelled the grill having the propane left on at a party before the 40 people there did. I wanna see the data on why people believe this. All the big name chefs smokearoo and it doesn't seem to effect their careers. If it was so detrimental, ehy would they all smoke?

I used to dish-dogg when starting in restaurants.
You NEED that ciggy sometimes for the SMELL.
I agree with you... But knock that Marlblow shit off, and start rolling. It's not the tobacco and smoke products, but all the other chemical bullshit they put in there to adjust taste, ash color, smoke color, smoke scent, burn rate...
For your health and possibly your wallet, anon.
A can of A.S. tobacco is about $68 here, and not only will you smoke less and be fulfilled, all your clothing and car and everything won't smell like a dirty bar ashtray at 3:30pm.
