dawn soap formula change

What the hell is this "clean new scent" bullshit about. I've used this stuff for years and never before did it leave a scent behind on my dishes.
Now I wash a stainless steel pan with it. Then when I go to cook, whatever fragrance they put in starts burning and smelling like a trash fire.
Frick the new formula! I demand the old one back!

      Okay, "know more-ier than thou"
What poison did they remove from the soap that makes it smell like ass now?
Because I'd love to hear your professional opinion.

dude, it's soap. I agree with OP, they changed something and I have to rince a lot more and even then, some stuff just holds on to that perfume they're using it's fricking annoying.

you're supposed to wash away the soap with water and dry it before cooking with it. i can't believe i'm typing this out.

I always found Dawn's animal cleaning marketing angle hilariously ironic and sickening at the same time. Use this petroleum product...to clean off this other petroleum product!

Not to mention you just know they dunk a duckling in a barrel of spent motor oil off camera
I hate that I tacitly endorse their braindead marketing by buying their product. It really is the best dish soap unfortunately.

I don't understand why soaps all have to be full of scents and weird plant oils I've never even heard of. it's fricking soap not cologne or hand lotion or anything else. I use it when I want things to smell less not more.

Agreed, I’m curious if it’s partly a Covid thing, I noticed the main Softsoap was much more scented the last time I bought a bottle (yes I am a refiller).

I'm starting to get paranoid bros. Soaps, laundry detergents, dryer sheets, shampoo, conditioner, antiperspirant, deodorant, cologne - everything has fricking scent on scent on scent, assaulting our skin and noses with dozens of chemicals before we ever walk out the door. This can't be healthy for us

You should have been paranoid a long time ago, and started learning how to make your own soap. It is very easy.

Maybe dump dawn and go for palmolive citrus, I have a senstive nose and never notice any lingering scents after hand washing some dishes.

    >my dishes don't smell like carcinogenic flowers, therefore they must not be clean
This is the same as women demanding to have colored flowers and such printed on paper towels. Then, whenever you wipe something, the dye from the pattern leeches out onto whatever it was you thought you were cleaning. I don't think they make those PTs anymore, but you'd have thought they'd have learned their lesson letting women drive these decisions.

Just another reason to stop buying Procter & Gamble (P&G) products. They own Gillette, which actively hates straight white men and also has trannies in their commercials.

I've been using Palmolive for years now, it's got a much lighter scent and it doesn't stick around, and it's also not made by a company that hates you.

I don't use Dawn anymore, I've been trying out other brands, and I've noticed this myself with some of them - it isn't enough to simply rinse out the suds from the pan/cub/whatever, you have to scrub it with a clean brush while rinsing to get the scent residue off.

      >i hate my dishwasher, bros. are other ones like this? it's a not-cheap kenmore.
Like is there leftover residue in the cups after going through a dishwasher cycle? In that case you need to make sure you are using a rinse-aid and regular dishwasher detergent gel or powder (not pods) and especially running your kitchen sink tap until it's scalding hot before beginning the wash cycle (because most homes have the water from both plumbed together and giving it a start with hot water helps jumpstart dissolving/cleaning things). Likewise, if your model has options for sanitize and/or Hot Wash/Pots & Pans (or whatever is the longest cycle) use them.

Also check your machine's sprayer arms (you'll have at least 2 but probably 3: 1 on the bottom of the tub, 1 hanging underneath the top rack, and 1 at the top of the tub).
If you have hard water or other gunk over time that can build up causing the holes that the water jets from to be clogged (think the shower head in some bathrooms).

stop using dishwashers. you have to clean 90% of the fricking dish before you put it in anyway or else it won't be fully clean.
