Digornio Croissant Crust Pepperoni Pizza

Hi pizza pals, it's time for pizza in paris. It's not delivery, it's digornio, so I don't have to tip like a true European! I feel so fancy. This pepperoni pizza promises layers of flaky and buttery crust.

Not a single person is eating exactly 1/5th of this pizza as their portion, I don’t buy it. This pizza packs 1900 calories, and I paid $7.92 at walmart

This reducing printed calories via portion size is getting ridiculous.
      >This chocolate cake only has 200 calories!*
      >*Per miniscule 50g slice.

only stupid cat ladies count calories anyway. Just don't be fat?

It's not even the size anon, if they made the serving size 1/6th or 1/8th I could understand it because maybe you're eating it as a family or putting half the pie in the fridge. But 1/5th? Nobody cuts a pizza into 5ths, and nobody cuts a pizza into 10ths either

Interesting to note, most packaged food "containers" contain 1,200 - 2,400 calories of food. Simplt multiply the printed calories times "servings per container."

Pic related of a regular 12.04oz box of cheeze-its. 1800 calories if you eat the whole thing. Little bags of granola sold in cereal aisles have just as many.

At least with a box of cheese-itz it's reasonable to believe someone might take a couple cups out and put the rest away for later. With a pizza the entire thing basically needs to be consumed within 24hr or it's trash

I swore I would never buy Digiorno again after buying one that had a hair sticking out of the crust. I do love croissants so if you love it I'll consider buying it.

    Layers of crust? Check
    Buttery? Check
    Flaky? Check

They really do mean layers of crust feels like they glued 3 or 4 pizza crusts together when they made this. While the crust is flaky, it's not like a real croissant it's not going to create nearly as many crumbs. The buttery element is faint but pleasant. The problem is that the crust itself just isn't very tasty. If you're going to make a dough-heavy pizza, making sure the dough tastes good is of the utmost importance, and it's just mediocre. The pepperonis are mildly spiced, but they often have a greasy aftertaste that's kind of unpleasant. It's just not a very good pizza. It's a novelty you buy for the meme, and then realize why actual pizza joints don't sell 12 inch croissant pizzas. You're much better off buying a rising crust.

From this grocery order the stuffed crust great value chicken bacon ranch also got a 6/10 but it wins the tie breaker because it was 26 cents cheaper than the croissant pizza, and also if you told me I hand to pick one to eat again I'd pick the bacon ranch pizza, and the bacon ranch pizza was at a disadvantage because I dont even really like ranch. So yeah I'd say this was the worst of the bunch so far

i wonder if they used a pie crust for it rather than an actual croissant

It feels like they took a bunch of shitty low quality pizza crusts and layered them. I wouldn't be surprised if this is some sort of nestle scheme to salvage and sell broken pizza crusts by turning them into a multilayer croissant. Because the actual taste of the bread is what kills this pie for me. These crusts might be okay for a regular pizza but when it's 80-90% of what you're tasting it's just not good enough

You just described the problem with 95% of frozen pizzas
Motor City brand Detroit style pizzas are insanely good because they bypass the great shitty crust filter entirely

I found the crust on the motor city pepperoni I had absolutely delicious! The pepperonis were kinda funky though so I really wanna try the other variants so it's not pure pepperoni

the supreme is pretty good, same price as the pep, but you also get sausage, peppers and onion
i like to pull it out after the 20ish minutes or so
then slice it in the tray
then put it back in the oven
then turn the oven off and leave it for another 6-7 minutes

I actually really like these. They are fricking DECADENT when it comes to calories and carbs and I think the trick is to cook the crossionant crust just right. If it's not cooked enough it's just one big piece of dough with no layers but too much and it's too crispy. You want it to have the consistency of a nice Pillsbury layers roll. That's basically what the crust is.

Thank you both for sharing! I'm just one pizza reviewer, so it's good to see other people's takes in the thread!
