having safe food of a known consistency on a road trip is the only reason we invented fast food. why? what are you doing with all the fast food you imported?

        Yes.
        >so they can stuff their piggy faces???
What else do you propose we do at slop houses?

It's too moronic to be China or Europe. I'm guessing Arab, Paki, or Poo.

Yeah it's so fricking stupid they put these signs up when you're driving 70 mph on the interstate, why wouldn't you just frick around on your phone to see what food stops are coming up.

do you Zoomers even do road trips? seems like road trips would be too socially-confrontational for your generation

You don't have to have any confrontation on a road trip.
        >complete itinerary from the start, followed to the letter
        >includes pre-booked hotels
        >food ordered by app before you show up so you can just pick it up and leave
        >destinations are pre-planned and completely insular

This shouldn't happen anyway unless you're moronic and even older generations would find it fairly fricking unpleasant

Yes. If you have decent tires that are in good shape and don't drive over live nails your tires will not spontaneously go flat. It's exceedingly rare to get a flat tire just driving on the highway.

                >t. driving a 50 year old copemobile with tires balder than his head
I've driven across the US multiple times and never gotten a flat tire. The only time I've had so much as a slow leak was when I got a nail in my tire which I probably got in my own garage. You probably can't even drive, you just have terminal anxiety about it because you think it's a disaster waiting to happen every time you set out on the road.

I drove under a bridge under construction and got 12 nails in 2 of my tires.

                >get in car to drive 2 hours to nearest shart mart
                >collapsing infrastructure under "repair" by illegal immigrants, drive under it
                >get 12 nails in your tires, screech off to the side of the road
                >cops show up since you're illegally parked on the highway
                >get 12 bullets in your chest cavity

no. I was driving on a highway the only highway I could take. there was an overpass under construction. I must have run over the nails there. my tires held air for 60 miles before I had to pull over and air them up.

but whatever strokes your tiny little dick.

This is a common occurrence that can be anticipated on most drives that might constitute a "road trip"

The interstates are dangerous. You seen those pictures of a couch or half a barns worth of salvaged siding bungee corded to a ratted out 90s sedan? That's real life. Much to the drivers surprise once they reach their destination and go to take it in, shit done fell off 40 miles ago. Sometimes it's an unsecured shovel that bounces off the trailer with no back gate going 80mph. Those kind of trailers also throw a lot of loose nails. Let your mind wander for five seconds and you're liable to hit a 6×12 inch pothole. I had a close, call with a couch. Buddy of mine was less fortunate and hit a basketball goal. Fricked up the underside of the car. I once hydroplaned going 85 at 3 in the morning and by grace alone did a 720 before slamming the driver tire into a concrete pillar. The wheel was fricked but surprisingly nothing else was. Airbag didn't even go off. Longest five minutes of my life spinning sliding backwards, spin around again. You know the song. Another time while taking full time classes and picking up extra 12 hour shifts and doing clinicals I fell asleep and hit a bridge. You guessed it, but only needed a new tire that time as wheel was just slightly bent. The tire guy hammered it out to hold pressure.

Yes, they do this one. There's also equivalent signs for stuff like gas stations and hotels. I think this is federal law to do with the interstate highway system.

Restaurants pay for the advertising. That money goes to pay chain gang convicts 12¢ an hour to pick up piss bottles and blown out truck tires. We as a society need to keep these ads up in order to keep our interstate highways somewhat clean.

They also have helpful gun store markers along all major highways.
    Eg.
Next gun store - 4 miles
Next gun store - 3 miles
Next gun store - 2 miles
    GUN STORE EXIT: 1 MILE
GUN STORE -> EXIT RIGHT LANE ->
    ...
    ...
Next gun store - 4 miles

Yes, and get this: we also have signs dedicated to the nearest location of car slop houses (gas stations) so that our cars can stuff their piggy faces as well when they get hungry on a long drive. I know, it's mind-blowing.

The reason for the government offering businesses space on these signs was to reduce the number of billboards along the highway. It doesn't eliminate them but does reduce the number and standardizes the signs for travelers, which is good for safety.
