I like having a few fruits a week but like having different stuff.
Sometime is just that
If I get an Apple an apricot and a peach
I can have a little variety and they are ripe on different days.
I have a list for pantry items that need replenishing, but apart from that I buy protein that's at a good value and grab stuff to build meals around that. Prices have gone up approx 25% in the last year, it's getting annoying.
I tend to do too "fresh" mostly veggies shops. that are about two or three weeks away from each other and bulk my meals up out if needed of things out of the freezer or stuff like rice. Things I grow at home or of canned.
Then about every C shop I go get larger Staples.
Canned things , new seasoning sometimes, beans, rice, flour, just anything that lasts longer and can be frozen or made staple
Yeah, that's one upshot to organising a list, yeah.
Admittedly, I sometimes forget to add something to the list if I run out of it while cooking or something and don't immediately add it, but it's otherwise a decent system.
Except for at this one store, actually. Frick that store. They keep. Reorganising. The fricking. Aisles. First time I went, tea was at the far left of the store and now it's the second aisle from the far right. Chocolate used to be a central aisle but now THAT is on the far left where the tea was and crisps took their place in the centre. idk where tf the crisps moved from. Even the bread has moved. It used to be far to the back, just next to the dairy fridge but now it's on the far left next to where the tea used to be and the chocolate is now. At least the meat, dairy and fresh juices don't move about. I'd go fricking mental.
They do it cuz people buy more stuff it's the same reason the bread's always near the front of the store. But I don't really mind that I like when I go down new aisles that I don't always go down because I find it enjoyable just to look at "new" products.
I live 5mins walk from a grocery store, so i don’t need to plan or list.
I just go there and buy what I need when I need it, and treat the store like a detached pantry.
I get an idea of what I need in my head so I have a goal, then I buy any extra things as I see them. I'm shopping for 1 so I never need to buy that much.
Not really, I just buy what's in season and/or prime condition. I have an excellent butcher, fruit and veg farmer, 2 fishmongers, 2 coffee and tea specialists and several beer, wine, diary, cheese and charcuterie specialists who tell me what to buy.
I trust them completely as I've selected them over the past 2 decades through trial and error. As in: if they make an error they're out and never come back, I just try someone new. I only buy nonfood from supermarkets (toilet paper, toothpaste, shampoo, stuff like that).
I keep a google doc of what I'm planning to cook for the week and what I'll need, and if I see anything on sale or something interesting I'll grab it.
My fiancée on the other hand is a complete crazy person at the store. She's super ADD, and always manages to go shopping while she's hungry, so she ends up with all sorts of dumb shit that neither of us needs. FFS she spent almost $200 at Trader Joe's yesterday.
You can also see how different we are just by our actual walking path in the store. I'm nice and organized, up and down and across the aisles, and she looks like a Family Circus treasure hunt.
>list on phone ordered by aisle >say I'm going to the shop, ask if we need anything >uhhhhh, I can't think of anything >cool >shop, finish, pay >on the way home >text message with a list of half a dozen random items
I submit my order online, pick it up the next day, and then go into the store and pick up anything they missed/pick substitutions because their shoppers are kind of moronic. Also grab whatever fun little treat my brain picks on impulse. Just 1 though.
For me, I see what I buy
The buy of what I see watches the purchases
>1 apricot
Why?
I like having a few fruits a week but like having different stuff.

I have a general list in my head and then I see what's available
How much do you spend in 3 shopping trips
A$ b$ c$
Probably $200
A 50$ B50-60$ C100$
I tend to do too "fresh" mostly veggies shops. that are about two or three weeks away from each other and bulk my meals up out if needed of things out of the freezer or stuff like rice. Things I grow at home or of canned.

I love shopping the discount produce shelf you can get such good deals and then just dehydrated/freeze/can it, if it's too close to going bad.
List, organised by store and aisles with non-perishables being picked up first and dairy-meat-and-ice-cream being picked up last.
I feel this if something is next to each other in the store ,I put it next to each other on the list. then you never miss it.
Yeah, that's one upshot to organising a list, yeah.

All these changes have happened in the last four months.
And excepting Lidl and Aldi, bread tends to always be towards the back where I live.
:3
Very nice anon
i have a grocery list of staples i use often.
>tortillas, garlic bulbs, onions, canned beans, mustard
other than that, i just go to the discount grocer and buy what looks cheap and/or interesting
the funnest is going to the foodbank and trying to make meals out of the random crap they give you
Some shit I always buy (pasta, cans, butter, eggs, sparkling water...) And for the rest I just look at the fridge before going for groceries.
Man you can buy pasta in such bulk it's such a good use of money.
I think a lot of people don't like pasta cuz their mom or dad used to make it really bad when they were young.
Pastas are like 1/2€ a kilo at most so I never bother to buy in bulk (3x500g if there's an offer at most)
I live 5mins walk from a grocery store, so i don’t need to plan or list.

This, but under 3 minutes
I live in a food desert so the nearest supermarket is 1 1/2 miles away
I get an idea of what I need in my head so I have a goal, then I buy any extra things as I see them. I'm shopping for 1 so I never need to buy that much.

Your imagination sounds wonderful.
wow u sound like a gay lmaooo
a rich gay
lol no. Just a gay who has a weird imagination of how rich people actually live.

I buy the same items every week so technically I'd say Grocery List I suppose?
No the list changes, I just put down what I'm craving then look it over before I got and see what I still want
Yes I pre plan everything by using my phone. I don’t want to waste time or wander around
I like it too
phonelist for convenience
>list on phone ordered by aisle
>say I'm going to the shop, ask if we need anything
>uhhhhh, I can't think of anything
>cool
>shop, finish, pay
>on the way home
>text message with a list of half a dozen random items
That's on you for poor planning ask them the day before you go.
>female
Just be happy she doesnt make the list for you and spazz out when you grab the wrong kind of generic frozen meal or some other nasty bullshit.
based. i separate my list into sections too. people who dont do this are moronic
I always get bread, milk, Coke zero and eggs
But with meat and veg I mix it up each time.
muchrooms
Muchrooms
frick ya mudda

Coke and MTN dew
Milk and creamer
Carrots
Meat
Butter
I buy what's on sale and make meals with what I get. know how to utilize your ingredients and be less of a homosexual.
My hole is gaping
Very cool.
Very very cool

Nice
I plan out my week's worth of meals in advance, and purpose buy any ingredients I need, and nothing else.
Good plan
