I don't get this complaint. I see it often but they're not hard to clean at all.
I don't like the coffee they make though.
Paper filtered coffee is way better.
Easiest coffee maker ever to clean unless you're a lazy shit bag that leaves it full of coffee grounds until it molds. >leave a small amount of coffee in the bottom (it's loaded with fines and gross anyways) >swirl and dump in trash/compost >put in a single drop of dish soap and fill about 1/3rd with hot water >pump it till it's full of suds >rinse >let it dry
If that's considered too much effort to clean for you I can't imagine the state of your abode.
>a ceramic cone and a disposable paper filter is more than a glass container, a piston, and a 3 part filter that needs to be disassembled and cleaned every time it's used
You've either never used one or never cleaned one.
I use a french press for many things, and depending on the material it definitely needs cleaned out.
For example, if need to strain hot fats or oils out of something and need force it works well, but it'll need cleaned.
I hate grinding coffee extra coarse so it won't clog up in these shit-tier metal filters, they're a bitch to clean and you gotta disassemble it too to get all the rancid oils out with dish soap out or they'll start flavoring your coffee with daily usage.
Too much oil gets through so the second it starts to cool down it tastes like acidic shit.
I like using a chemex with its three mile thick paper filters a lot more and sometimes my aeropress with double filters.
you killed my thread
I don’t know what it was but it’s probably for the best.
just remake it and continue the cycle
some hot water and ground coffee would be nice i guess
Annoying to clean.
Huh? It’s very easy to clean. Just rinse it, leave hot water in it for some time and it’s clean.
I make coffee and then forget it for a week so it gets moldy and the mold gets all in the metal mesh.
I use an aeropress now.

I concur. Every french press coffee I've had was simultaneously too thin/underextracted and bitter.

i like experimenting with different size grounds for different tastes
boiling water and coffee powder PLS
I need less
This is more thoughever
>a ceramic cone and a disposable paper filter is more than a glass container, a piston, and a 3 part filter that needs to be disassembled and cleaned every time it's used
You're an actual fucking idiot if you think a french press needs to be taken apart to be cleaned lmfao it gets rinsed with hot water
You've either never used one or never cleaned one.

I need fewer
For me, it's the humble moka pot
i need less. i only need an electric kettle and my instant coffee and some cocoa powder or cinnamon powder.
It doesn’t get “less” than this. Put in the coffee, put in the water, heat near boiling, pour.
I wish it held a greater volume, but I've been brewing my coffee with one for 10 years now.
are the instructions imbedded in the glass?
I need less I’m fucking wired right now
I made this batch extremely potent by mistake ..good morning anxiety!
I wish I got a stainless steel press instead of glass.

Works on my machine.
what machine
Basado. Have one of these at home but they tend to mold up if you don't leave a dessicant or a tea bag in there.
I'm not addicted to caffeine, a good night's rest and a hot shower is all I need to start the day. Enjoy your shit I guess?

Skill issue
better for tea than coffee
yes, a moka pot
If we're factoring in flavour/taste, cost, clean-up, versatility and consistency, the Aeropress is the best coffee brewing device.
