They don't taste like anything regardless

They aren’t that good tbh and my grandma has a few of these plants.

Most fricking tasteless, pointless food I've ever eaten.

You want the golden variety. Those taste great. Red dragon fruit is trash tier

why do dragonfruit flavored things great but the fruit itself tastes like nothing at all

Quality makes the difference. My family has a dragonfruit plant at my house and the fruits from have always tasted great. Sweet like a kiwi. One day we got some from the grocery store since we were out and it tasted like water.

It's tasteless because they pick it when it's green. Stuff tastes better if it ripens on the vine.

never had a good one from the store but my homegrown ones tasted pretty sweet but they will really test you patience to try to catch it before it drops and rots on the ground

I just fricking explained to you that the ones at the store are not ripe 50% of the time. If it's not ripe it doesn't have flavor. Period. Like all fruits and vegetables.

So you went to a grocery store in weather that no one wants to be working in, to buy a fruit that grows on the opposite side of the continent, has no nutritional value, tastes lake Dasani and was a meme before memes, and then you went on a Balinese Christmas tree forum to complain that it wasn't quite ripe?

Shows what you know I'm only about 500 miles from their native range. Hardly the other side of the continent, let alone country

I didn't actually leave my help I'm just the guy that said I'm 500 miles away from the dragon fruit native range. Also I don't drive for groceries. There is an Asian market across the street that fills my autistic needs

          Thanks, you too 🙂

It tastes sweet when ripe and has a great source of fiber and antioxidants.

Dragonfruit doesn't ripen anymore once picked. So if they pick it too late it's fricked.
