Also in a real oven you can space out the food so they cook evenly.
Especially french fries, the thing they shill them the most with, always end up burnt on top and raw on the bottom, every time. Then they just tell you to “shake it” every 5 minutes, so they can blame you

      > Have to shake it
You don’t cook a steak on one side, do you?
Also, turn the temp down. Of course you’re going to burn the top if you’re trying to cremate them at max temp

Your fryer must such. The whole point of the air fryer is that it circulates the hot air quickly and evenly throughout specially designed baskets. Mine always makes delicious fries and I don't have to do shit with them. It also makes amazingly crispy chicken wings which just doesn't happen in a regular oven.

It also cooks shit a lot quicker than an oven. Like half the time and you don't have to wait for it to preheat. You people are moronic and just don't know how to use it or bought a cheap knock off.

u can buy a 25L air fryer, they fit alot, some also have a rotating spit thing u can use,

u could cook enough chicken drumsticks for a family of 6,

and it will cook alot faster and crispier,

u would save power by not heating up a giant oven, if the air fryer would do the job,

air fryers are great man. just get a decent sized o ne that's good, ull see,

It's a toaster oven at that point. Toaster ovens have started being sold as "air fryers" to cash in on the term, but they don't really fit the true air fryer format. Might as well call full sized convection ovens air fryers.

Ovens use more energy than airfryers.

A convection oven uses 2000 to 5000 watts, needs 10+ minutes to preheat, and then another 20 mintues to cook the fries.

Meanwhile an airfryer only uses 1500 watts, doesn't need any preheating, and cooks the fries in 15 minutes.
If you do the math, the oven uses like twice as much electricity.

Also, with an oven you need to carefully arrange the fries on the tray so that they aren't too close to each other, and then when you want to take them out you need to take them off the tray carefully or you spill them.

Meanwhile with an airfryer you just dump them in the bucket, and when they're done you dump the bucket on the plate. Saves so much time and effort

A lot of the anons shilling ovens here don't realize how large of a percentage of first world countries are pod-people in megacities and have a 4ftx4ft apartment, eat only frozen food, and live alone or with their partner and no kids. And that's only going to get worse and worse. In that situation, an air frier is objectively better than an oven. More efficient, less space, large enough to cook what you need, etc. The oven of the dystopian future is an air frier.

To be fair to air fryers. They circulate air a lot faster than most convection ovens, so it does make the pseudo frying effect more effective.

Why do ignorant people always post totally moronic sarcastic greentext takes on concepts they don't understand?

What OP's post actually means, translated:
    >I have no idea what an air fryer is, can someone please explain them to me?

    What he was afraid of:
    >people will make fun of me if I just ask

    What he did instead:

It's a small, fast convection oven. My oven is ancient and has no convection function and I got an air fryer for frozen stuff like fries or mozzarella sticks

was at a restaurant a while ago and witnessed this exchange about air fryers
    >old man is putting his leftovers in a box, leaves his fries
    >tells the 30 something waitress that they never reheat well
    >she says she puts them in an air fryer and starts to explain her exact method
    >he interrupts her to say "I have no idea what an air fryer is"
    >she looks at him blankly for a second
    >repeats exactly what she was saying before like nothing happened, offers no explanation of what an air fryer is
    >old guy is visibly annoyed and walks away while she's still talking
it's like her millennialoid brain couldn't comprehend that this guy who was probably her age the first time he used a microwave wouldn't be familiar with the latest fad gadget. there's something genuinely wrong with people who are really into air fryers

Except its not. Shit cooks in half the time and comes out considerably crispy. I made floured chicken wings last night in my air fryer and they came out exactly as if I deep fried them. Cooking things like French fries come out so much better and faster in an air fryer compared to an oven.
