>fast food prices are now about the same as local restaurants
>food quality and quantity has actually declined, you get far less bang for your buck and the food isn't as good as it used to be
>usually takes forever because of shitty staff and understaffing
>any deals worth talking about have all been taken away
What's even the point of fast food anymore unless you're literally starving to death? They've taken away anything that ever made it worth it. You can't even justify it now.

and yet their profits will continue to soar
human beings have been psychologically figured out for a while now but none of it is being used for good
it’s all being used for marketing

Even improvements to what's being produced aren't for the sake of making anything good. They're for marketing in the other direction.
Any public corporation that's been in business for long enough is no longer in that original business. They're in the business of selling financial products (their stock and dividends) to investors, and the purported products and campaigns are nothing but advertising to shareholders.

      >What's even the point of fast food anymore
Idk. The closest go-to location for milkshakes shutdown and the one further away doesn't have a milkshake machine. At some the balance of whatever advantages fast food has over making your own goes the other way. Subway prices went nuts. KFC ruined the shape of their pieces of chicken. Homemade pizza's loss mostly comes from the dough rise time.
The deep fryer and potential wasted oil is probably the biggest moat some fast food has remaining.

people will stop going all together and soon it may be a demolition man senario. maybe not soon.
but shit is going to be fricked because [...]
it will be interesting how it goes down and which restaurants go byby.
the cost cutting is nearing it's end of the rope

I don't go to fast food joints nearly as often in the last few months, none in the last month, I'm not the only one

The only place I go now is KFC and even that's only once every six weeks or so when my Dad and I get together for a visit
We buy a double tender burger combo each but it's not by choice, it's just so we have a valid excuse to sit in the air conditioning. Two years ago I would have been going at least once a week but not anymore.

Really the problem fast food is coming up against is convenience stores/gas stations. American chains are finally catching on to Jap habits in this regard and you can get some pretty good food for not a lot of money at places like Kwik Trip now. Turns out people are willing to get out of their cars and eat stuff that has been sitting under a heat lamp if it means saving a few bucks

I have noticed this also, service stations around here have all started "food box" style eatery sections

Same shit over here in germany, the closest McDonald's to me was good as far as fast food can be considered good but just last year I got food poisoning from there. The BigMac, it just tasted bitter and wierd and the fries tasted of old frier oil.

      >The BigMac, it just tasted bitter and wierd
That's funny because the last Big Mac I ate was a couple of months ago and it just tasted like sugar to me. Everything tasted like it had sugar in it, even the meat.

A large number of stores are billboards that sell advertising to consumers. This is no different with most chain restaurants. They are not selling you a product. Half of that shit is literally not food.

It's cheaper when you account for the saved time and expense on equipment and storage space for the equipment.

I've been doing Doordash lately to make a few dollars in my spare time, and I noticed that you can go inside a McDonalds and stand at the counter for about 5-10 minutes sometimes before you're even greeted. All the workers are running around in the back and just ignore you. Imagine going inside to get a refund or have them redo your order because you got a cheeseburger like in the OP. Even the manager wouldn't give you the time of day.
