there's a whole parking lot full of them in the brown section of town, never been to any of them. I used to frequent a curry burrito truck that some vegan lesbians ran

Why? You can basically just glance in to see the cleanliness (or absence of) the truck. A lot more transparent than ordering from a restaurant honestly.

I'm socially awkward so I do most of my cooking and it's very rare for me to eat outside, I feel like my status is below the random guy cooking in the truck.

Yes. Sometimes, yes. Most of them don't have things that appeal to me, and the ones that do have shitass hours that never coincide with my schedule so I stop trying to explore trucks.

I used to be a fan because they were cheaper and more convenient than sit-down restaurants. Now they're just as expensive and you're just eating stuff that's been sitting in a warmer.
I don't know. Maybe I'm old and jaded. There used to be a coffee truck that made very good but cheap coffee that I would go to, then it left and never came back. When my ex broke up with me (by text) she referenced it and it made me think, what's the point of a restaurant on wheels anyway, they're just going to take you for all you're worth and then leave anyway.

Frick no. Food truckers are the carnies of the food world. Only rubes eat at food trucks.

There's a paella truck in the shopping strip in my town that pays me $20 a week to not crop dust his service area anymore. It's really good easy money. There's no law against farting, and they don't own the kerb so they have no legal recourse to stop you from walking past as many times as you like, and the stink really drives down sales so they need to pay up. I'm thinking about moving to a town with more food trucks so I can make a living income out of not farting.

There was a food truck I used to eat at but then they moved to brick & mortar and upped price for a meal by $2 so i dont buy from them anymore. The whole reason i would go to a food truck is the price.

regulations in my county forced all food sold in food trucks to be cooked at a commissary and then just sold out of the truck, so everything is just reheated slop from whatever day they rented the kitchen out last week for exorbitant prices. no thanks. I buy tamales from a guy who sells them on his lawn at 4am sometimes though

Luv a good polish sausage from these places. It's almost that time of year when chip trucks emerge after winter

    >Do you have food trucks where you are?
    Of course.
    >Do you get food from them?
Frick no. Last time I bought from one was this mexican truck that used to be park in front of my job. $3 street tacos. I think I ate there like 2-3 times on my lunch break and then I stopped because I prefer Shake Shack.

    Yes
    >Do you get food from them?
Rarely, they're over-regulated so they're inconveniently located, and overtaxed so they're too expensive.

I never saw the appeal of food trucks. It's like the little food tents that get set up for parades, tractor pulls, county fairs, special events like that. Except there's no special event. It's just someone in a van selling expensive food.

They're meant for factory workers and military bases. Places where folks can't leave for lunch for very long but still want something cheap and hot. Tacos, sandwiches, bags of chips. But shitty businesses just use them in lieu of an actual restaurant location.
