broccoli is great roasted or sauteed in butter. or in soup. I think people just grew up with a distaste for it cause boomers would steam or boil it unseasoned and that's nasty.

steamed broccoli is great, seasoned with olive oil, garlic or herb it's amazing
boomers boil the hell out of it so the taste and texture are gross, giving their kids broccoli ptsd

Just actually buy it fresh and cook it in anything but a microwave and broccoli will taste good

I've tried it every way you can think to cook it, and it still taste vile.

        Brocco is one and covered,
but Cauliflower, I used to hate that when I was a kid but I've learned that it's pretty good when made properly.

there is no way on earth to make cauliflower taste good.

I've come full circle, and I'm back to hating broccoli. Put myself on a diet, and I've been eating it regularly for the past year, and every bite makes me want to kill myself now.

Here's another, Brussels Sprouts, hated them as a kid, then as I got older they're really good. That and cauliflower just weren't made properly by my mom or grandmother, I love them both but they couldn't cook for shit.

back in college my room mate and I went hiking in the desert near the college exploring old mines and shit. at one point we stumbled on a pit with a rotting dead cow in it. it must have fallen in and either got hurt and died or could not get out and died.

my room mate started throwing rocks at the maggot infested carcass which smelled fricking disgusting.

I was worried we were going to get it on us as it was splattering everywhere.

Later when we got back to the campus at dinner time we go to stand in line at the cafeteria.

I start smelling that dead cow again. I'm looking all over me and my room mate to see where the smell is coming from. he can't figure it out either.

We are both sure people can smell us but play it cool.

We get up to the serving line and found the source of the smell.

      steamed brussels sprouts.

Nah, you just suck at cooking it. Most vegetable taste great when roasted with a bit of olive oil and salt, add lemon juice to make it gourmet

I learned to love eating vegetables instead of meat because someone taught me that I was a bad, BAD person when I ate meat because I was responsible for the deaths of 6 gorillion dead animals every year and because I don't want to be a murderer and because eating meat is bad and because killing animals is bad
Also because animals don't kill other animals in nature. It's unnatural for animals to kill other animals because it's wrong, because the bible says murder is wrong

    >Foods that you've learned to love
food either tastes really good or it doesn't.

there is no food I "learned" to love.

there are foods that (as I got older) whatever I was tasting as a kid I no longer taste, and so I can eat:
    mushrooms
    asparagus

but foods like broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, beets, celery, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, all still taste like vile garbage even after 40+ years.
