For me it's Aldi's 16" five cheese take and bake premade pizzas for only $6.50 apiece.

      >even yanks shop at Aldi
The Germans are bossing it in the grocery game

I'm sure that pizza is fine but Aldi is generally not worth shopping at. The things they have cheap you will discover are cheap for a reason and everything else is more expensive than Wal-Mart

Aldi has been in the US for 50 years. Even back in the 80's my small hometown had an Aldi.

Once in a while I like it. I like
Doughy ones like Dijourno rising crust.

    No
I get a way better end product using flour tortillas
    And quality toppings
Plus the cost is hardly a factor compared to frozen
When I did indulge it was totinos party pizza because the crust is crispy and the sauce was decent and the pepperoni chunks were great.
Now they are 150% more expensive, and the cheese peps and sauce all suck bad.

eh, it's okay if you're not expecting anything.
arguably better than some takeout places.
definitely worse than proper restaurant pizza, rare as those are.
absolutely worse than proper home-made, nonna-approved pizza.

I picked up a generic Kroger brand personal pizza for $1 the other day and it's the first time I've ever bought a frozen pizza and not felt ripped off.

The only frozen pizza I've had in the US was when my dipshit father in law spent $100 to get two Gino's East frozen pizzas shipped to the house.

bought one of these last night for $5.99 plus tax.
the "ultra thin crust" was literally a tortilla and the thing was ice cold less than 10 minutes after pulling it out of the oven.
still ate the whole thing in about 15 minutes.

Get the normal crust and those are the best brand hands down.

I try it only once in a while when I feel extremely lazy and I almost always regret it

Even pizza on a tortilla or a toast is a better option

Family and I started eating them last year after Safeway gave me seven Newman's Own ones for 50¢ each. We occasionally buy the store brand ones now.

Shit tons of sodium. Slop ingredients, high saturated fats. Once every month or so I'll imbibe. But I'm not a fatso and care about my health, so I don't overdo it. These are alright

I make 4 pizzas at a time and they're always way better than any frozen pizza by far

Yes but the only acceptable one in that picture is red baron.
If you want to spend more motor city pizza co or the new premium red baron. Otherwise don't bother you can get dominos for the same price.

Got one of those recently for $2 at ShopRite. First time ever having if. How is it not as good as fricking Safeway's own brand?

Just buy premade crusts, shredded cheese, pizza sauce and pepperoni. Better and cheaper than frozen and it takes like 5 minutes to spread the sauce and dump the ingredients on before putting it in the oven

Frozen pizza has no excuse to exist

I stopped years ago when an anon here suggested that I just make pizza from tortillas, haven't looked back since. Also saves freezer space as well as money.

The only difference is the base is thicker, not worth buying separately imo.

You know this isn't true, it's fine to be lazy and make lazy meals but no honest person would say a tortilla is a valid substitute for a real pizza dough.

But we are not talking about real pizza, we are talking about frozen pizza, and tortillas pizzas are a perfectly fine substitute, I would even say preferable.
