>girlfriend is vegan
>I prefer lard to canola and have never cooked a pot of beans without some kind of pork product

Yeah. It probably is. Dietary restrictions in relationships will default, over time, to the more restricted person. This is for purely utilitarian reasons of it's hard to cook two separate meals for every meals.
So, you'll either evolve to a middle ground or have a legitimately hard time with it.

Damn. This is already playing out. I fry up diced bacon and put it in a jar with all of the rendered bacon fat and add it to all of her rice, bean or lentil dishes so I can actually enjoy dinner.

Probably. You either have 2 seperate meals, or have the same vegan meal and you add dairy or animal components.

Prolly... Unless you can Convert her or keep strict separation*(This could be unwarranted Ammo for NUMEROUS bullshit fights and shit-tests.)
You let her change your diet though, and you'll HAVE to turn in your MANCARD™---Sorry, Brah, just how it bE.

True, but I had ribs on the 4th and she had a smoked pineapple and pretended to like it just to not lose face.

Well, compromise is sometimes integral to a good relationship--We DO, both sexes, compliment each other--As long as it doesn't become a push to change you--and perhaps even a conversion of her to her natural diet, I could be pretty b***hin'.
