Google is fricking useless because everyone and their mother's mother thinks eating a raw egg will kill you in 4 minutes flat while providing no actual numbers. Meanwhile every c**t between 16-26 is eating raw fish on the daily because it's "posh".

Is raw cookie dough genuinely dangerous to eat?

It's usually fine. Even if the egg you get happens to have salmonella you'll usually fight it off if you have a functioning immune system.
    >providing no actual numbers
You could have googled this in seconds, you have access to the entire world's accumulated knowledge and you're still useless. Shameful.

It's dangerous because of uncooked flour more than uncooked egg.

raw egg is perfectly safe in most countries. I've regularly eaten raw eggs for years and never been sick. The heat of the rice doesn't cook the egg
in america it's more likely to get salmonella, but it's still very rare and lots of people just drink raw eggs.

It 100% does if the egg is room temp.

for some people food poisoning lasts a very long time, even months of side effects, even long term arthritis. Just being on the toilet 4 days is disruptive to most lives.
The hospitalizations are real numbers, and so are the numbers not even reported to the CDC. So, I would not do raw eggs.

      >raw egg is perfectly safe in most countries.
nothing to do with countries at. all, and you can't fix stupid. Go ahead and spout lies on the internet though.

        >nothing to do with countries at.
        It literally is.

        >Salmonellosis annually causes, per CDC estimation, about 1.35 million illnesses, 26,500 hospitalizations, and 420 deaths in the United States every year.

        >In Germany, food poisoning infections must be reported. Between 1990 and 2005, the number of officially recorded cases decreased from about 200,000 to about 50,000.

        >Supreme Beef Processors, Inc. sued on the argument that Salmonella is naturally occurring and ultimately prevailed when a federal appeals court affirmed a lower court.

If you're buying nestle cookie dough, the flour has already been pre-cooked so it's safe to eat raw

Just pasteurize the egg and the flour yourself. It's actually really easy.

    >Is raw cookie dough genuinely dangerous to eat?
It can be, but more for the uncooked flour than the raw eggs.
Raw flour is surprisingly one of the more dangerous things you can eat and no one ever thinks of it.

severe food-borne illnesses in unprepared store-bought food are very rare but extremely deadly. modern antibiotic regiments in industrial farming makes it even rarer to the point of practically non-existent but nobody with any degree of public presence is going to tell "it's definitely safe to eat" and tee themselves up to get sued

If you get salmonella you will know you have it because you will have diarhea every 30 minutes until you die of dehydration.
Given that, it's hard to die of it unless you decide to.
I got it from pet turtles.

No. This entire food hygiene neurosis, that seems to have infected the hearts and minds of particularly Anglophone middle aged women, is pure bullshit and basically a non-issue for someone with a functioning immune system. You could drink a raw egg every day and statistically get only one salmonella infection once every 60 years
