Ground Beef Alternatives

I've been staying away from red meat for my health, but I love beef burgers. Any suggestions for what I can replace it with? I've tried ground turkey, but it comes out dry, crumbly, and tasting nothing like beef.

      Thanks, but both grass- and grain-fed beef will worsen my cholesterol levels.

      ground pork, great for asiatic shit like mapo tofu and dumplings

      ground turkey, mix that shit with cottage cheese and beaners spices

      I take it that I can't make burgers anymore, kek. But thanks for the suggestions. I guess it's time for me to move onto other varieties like those you listed.

        Are you sure? I'm not saying red meat is never bad for anyone but the people I know who had high cholesterol lowered it by losing weight and eating less refined carbs but continued eating butter, cheese, etc.

        Ground turkey has about the same amount of cholesterol as grass-fed beef.

        Low cholesterol is a bad thing. You need cholesterol. It's so important your body makes a little bit itself. Your brain is something like 20% cholesterol. Unless you want to die sooner or something?

          dunning krugers always say this as if it makes it good to eat it. the fact that your body makes just enough of it means that you DON'T need to eat it. your body makes glutamates on it's own, go see what happens when you eat more of it

            Sort of. You don't need to eat it for survival. That doesn't mean eating it isn't good for optimal health though. I can't say for certain about cholesterol, but people say that about carbs. We don't need to eat carbs so they might be bad for us. Our bodies can make carbs from fat and protein but not as much as our muscles like to use for more energy.

      I'm aware that red meat is more-or-less harmless in moderation, just like smoked things and phytoestrogens. However, if I like something a lot, I'll eat it a lot, so I have to be careful about what I make.
