Has the air fryer rendered your toaster obsolete?

Why would the air fryer render the toaster in particular obsolete? Toasters toast things. You don't make toast in an airfryer. God you people are fucking retarded fags

I don't want convection in my toaster. I want the outside crunchy and the inside soft and steamy. an air fryer would just turn your slice of bread is to a large crouton.

I still find uses that an oven, toaster oven, microwave, toaster, or air fryer are better. Usually it follows how much you're willing to say fuck it good enough.

No, I use them at the same time. I have this one which is only 4 qt, so I'll do like, chicken in the AF and roast potatoes in the toaster oven. And before anyone asks why I don't use my normal oven, I do for large meals but for a small lunch or dinner it doesn't make sense to do that when I have perfectly good smaller appliances.

are you retarded or why can't you sense the horrible plastic smell after using it?

There's a hole in my kitchen wall, it's got glass fitted into it and the glass panes can be opened and shut as needed to allow air to flow in and out of the kitchen. Besides, I marinate/season all my food so the smell of say, teriyaki chicken and rosemary roasted potatoes is way more powerful than that of plastic.

you don't mind the risks of inhaling those plastic fumes? you think having to open windows and shit to cook something in your goybox is reasonable?
          good lord

You should open your window when cooking at all indoors. Otherwise, you fill the air with grease and other particulates that you then inhale.

yes because inhaling my food, butter and olive oil (smells fantastic) is so dangerous compared to a plastic cancer box
also, winter is a thing here

I don't have one but the food I see made with it always looks dry as fuck and like it probably tastes like bland dry shit so I haven't been all that interested.

does the form factor make a difference? I prefer the oven style air fryer because it doesn't look retarded.

they basically cost the same except the air fryer cooks slightly more evenly and quickly. Not sure why you think iteration on a product makes you retarted to buy the better version

As someone who lives alone it's rendered my oven useless, not sure why I would ever toast my bread in the air fryer. Unless you mean toaster oven in which case the fags who invented those should have added a good fan ages ago and made it a product worth buying.

At first I used my air fryer for practically everything because it was a cool novelty. As I started cooking more I used it way less. Right now I don't use it at all, especially because I don't buy any frozen food anymore. I think its biggest strengths are making potatoes and its also good for speeding up dinners that require multiple things to cook at once. I think I'm going to take it off my countertop soon and just keep it in a cabinet.

I don’t have an air fryer, but I imagine the toaster is still the quickest way to toast bread. It doesn’t take up much counter space either.

Its definitely the quickest but a toaster oven allows you to cook other things at the cost of slightly more space.

You should invest in a combi, if you want efficiency in cooking. If you're making a specific item in low volume but very frequently, a unitasker may be worth your time, but otherwise, stick to proper equipment.

    Toaster more efficient
Makes a nicer browning crust on the outsides, oven seems toast entire bread, which makes better croutons however.
Unitaskers are worth if you use it all the time like I do

most, including air fryer is pure consoomer waste of money

I got gifted an expensive Phillips air fryer. I have to say it was underwhelming, thing took up an OBSCENE amount of counter space and was worse than my oven.
I could see it being useful if you have bad appliances in an old home or a rental, and if you cook a LOT of single person frozen food, but for cooking fresh food, or for a family, it's just trash.

It works best on stuff that leaves a lot of room for air circulation. Like potato wedges. Then you can make a lot at the same time, just need to toss em a bit during the cooking.
The single tray ones mostly excel at 1-2 people sides though for sure. I can have my potato wedges done in 12 min from a cold start without any tossing if for just one person.
I've also noticed it's exactly the right size for a whole raw chicken. ~25-30min from cold to cooked through.
More or less it's nice to have another heated convection oven but at the cost of significant counterspace. I solved it by buying a stainless steel cart with a flat top to put it on. Looks not-horrible.

I make soups and stews in my air fryer. I can't do that in a fucking toaster.

Air frying sucks. Get a oven with a broiler or keep some oil warm to deep fry on your days off. You can deep fry anything and make it great.

      >broiler
You mean convection setting. Most shit you would put in an air fryer would be stupid to broil.

No, but theyve largely made toaster OVENS obsolete. However, mine is a combo airfryer and toaster oven, so ots best of both worlds

It should be legal to kill people who bring up air fryers as a non sequitur during conversations.
