Have any of you tried American or Korean BBQ ?

Have any of you tried American or Korean BBQ ? I'm British and have seen so many videos on YouTube of people eating it but haven't tried it myself yet. Which is the king of BBQ ?

Non-noble brithomosexuals also aren't allowed to use forks and knives, their betters are worried that the peasant rabble might use them to stab the nobility. They also are banned from using toilet paper and air conditioning, resulting in thousands of deaths every year from dysentery and overheating in the summer. The british are truly the dumbest people on earth.

Yes and yes. Korean is good (and I actually tend to enjoy it marginally better than I do American barbecue) but it's not barbecue.
    American is king by default.
Oh, and the reason I like kbbq slightly more is because I've literally never had any that was bad. It's always good but never great. Meanwhile, proper barbecue ribs the gamut. If I know someone makes good 'cue, I'll get it every time but since I'm a novice with proper barbecuing, the only GREAT 'cue joint in my area burned down years ago and I'm a cheapskate who doesn't like wasting money on potentially bad barbecue, I'd rather go Korean.
But man, when you get great barbecue, it's indescribably fantastic.

      proper barbecue RUNS the gamut

American bbq can be bad because what's considered bbq is fairly loose, like many people think throwing a pork shoulder in a crock pot, ripping it up, and putting it on plain white Ball Park buns with Sweet Baby Ray's is "barbecue"
Actual barbecue is some of the best food that exists, I would fucking kill for some good brisket and a nice smoky sauce right now

        >Actual barbecue is some of the best food that exists
I agree, but was taking into account ask the shit barbecue out there, too.
        >I would fucking kill for some good brisket
Case in point, lol. Nah, jk, but as I said

        >The best BBQ is in Texas
Eh, I don't like smoked beef and what Texas does with pork is middling at best, IMO.

I don't like smoked beef. Smoke me a pork shoulder and we can hang.
I only ever smoke poultry. I do turkey wings every year to use in my Thanksgiving greens, chicken when the mood strikes and smoked a pair of ducks with used tea leaves once. Fucked it up. Left the flue too open IE too much air IE it burned too hot and I wound up drying them out. Made the same rookie mistake the first time I smoked chicken.

I really feel like smoked turkey should be more popular, my dad started smoking the turkey for thanksgiving about 5 years ago and it's fucking incredible. Way better than baked

The best BBQ is in Texas in my experience. Korean BBQ is pig disgusting the amount of sugar and sweetness they put into meat. My experience with american-korean BBQ, Ive never actually been to korea and I hope they dont it like that there but they probably do. Most american BBQ places also make their shit too sweet but sauces tend to be more optional.

          lol
Yeah, I know I'm fairly alone in that opinion. My best friend thinks I'm insane but I just want my beef to be its own, simple thing. I'm the guy who "don't even be seasoning they food" when it comes to me and beef. Quick grill over charcoal or fried in a pan, simple salt and possible pepper and a spritz of lemon and I'm happy.

I never buy into hyped foods, but when I went to America I tried BBQ in Texas and North Carolina and it was astonishing. The hype is real.
