office people always think they know better and everyone should be like them.

i personqlly canmot stand kitchen environments but that doesnt prevent me from understanding the nature of the job and the kind of personality required to get it done.

If you think you need to shout angrily all the time, you're mistaken. That wastes more time than it saves. What it takes is engendering a sense of teamhood.

Yeah. Like alot of people I was a dishie at one point, in fine dining specifically. The only real toxic cooks/chefs are the shit ones who idolize people like Godon Ramsey (almost always Anthony Bourdain) and just copy there sensationalism that they do to be popular in media with the rest of it flying over their head. These lovers also want to be some kind of "famous chef" and usually end up losing their job or business.

Sometime you just gotta threaten to drop kick a 18yo female's soul out through her ovaries in order to get her off her damn phone when there's shit that needs to get done. Same threats to the males to make it EOK

Ya. The owner actually thought he was on reality tv or some shit. Cussing and demeaning everyone. Demanding to be called chef.

One of the other waitresses came in with a bunch of attitude first thing, and I called her a b***h. Got fired and good riddance.

Professional kitchens are the closest thing civilians will get from a military environment, and if you want to get stuff done in a consistent way, there's no better system.
