here's my spatulas collection. Is this too many spatulas? How many spatulas do you own?

This is an excellent array of spatulas. Very nice.

Looks like a nice selection, OP. I don't have that many, but I like the ones I have. But I have a problem. I got a couple of the Pyrex silicone/nylon spatulas a few years ago, and they've worked great. But now the silicone is starting to wear out, and I can't find replacements anywhere. Does anyone know where I could find a silicone spatula with a stiff blade and sharp edge like the Pyrex ones that are apparently discontinued?

Le Creuset makes nylon spatulas with a silicone edge, but the shape is totally different.
pretty much every silicone spatulas have a rigid core, so you can probably find one with the perfect amount of flexibility

Too much redundancy, and you're missing the extra large offset spatula for fancy pastry related jobs.

The small convex red one is very useful

My mother has like a dozen spatulas and they are all flimsy pieces of shit. Not one of them is fit for flipping an egg or a pancake.

you should throw that 'clear' one at the top away if you melted it or if it was melted on purpose to shape during production

it came with my Kenwood stand mixer and I still have it around, but I never use it.
yeah, it's pretty shitty, I could have thrown it away years ago.
it's not melted, but you can see the point where it has started to form a few small cracks.

I have one spatula that will give me cancer and it is broken. But I am a cooklet

I've got a fish spatula, like 3rd from left, and a wooden spatula like the bottom one, and a red silicone one like yours in the middle. It's enough for me.
    Also, obligatory

Personally I would have more like the one all the way on the right, maybe without the slots in it.

    >Is this too many?
NOPE! Looks good...That plastic fish slice looks a little sus, and there'd be no shame in owning a spurdle or 2, but all in all nice selection.
    >no rubber spatulas with that shitty head that ALWAYS has to be removed and cleaned, lest it be filled with mold
    >No metal spatulas that try to be 6 different things including the E. Coli bottler opener
    Bonus points.

The yellow one? yup, it's pretty bad, it's too flexible to properly lift most foods. I only use it for eggs on teflon pans if it's the first that comes in hand.

Added a few things since last time, but too lazy to take a new picture right now.

The white one with the clovers on it is a spatula? It looks kinda like a spoon rest.

It's a rice paddle, but it functions essentially the same as a spatula when scooping rice out of the bowl of a rice cooker.

        That's a rice scoop. I wouldn't really consider it a spatula.

it's a slotted flexible steel spatula.
Also called a fish spatula, but it's great for a lot of things, not just fish

I have that same red set(bought off temu, tho its chinese shit thats prob. sold everywhere). It perfectly illustrates why i hate chinese shit... The materials are fine, and the quality is OK... but they decided to cheap out on the metal rod that gives it structure on BOTH sides. So the eyelet to hang it off shit is all droopy and malleable, and the tip of the usable portion of the spatula is too flimsy(and if you put too much force on it, the metal rod will pop through and ruin the thing) If they ended it by another cm and maybe stamped it so it got a better purchase inside the silicone it would be great.
My issue is, its 90% there, but because chinese factories are so set on hitting that profit margin that what COULD have been just as good as a thermoworks spatula(at 1/10th the cost) is noticeably worse.
So many other chinese made things are like this... that extra cheap-ness that literally might only remove 1% of the profit thatd make is ignored to make it so much worse than the other priced competition.

(And yeah, i own the thermoworks one too. And other than it being slightly too big, its perfect... but its also $13 plus shipping compared to $2 for the chinese one from temu)

I bough the red set on Amazon. it's obviously very chinese, but it's still pretty sturdy.
Do you see the pink spatula in the picture? I bought that one on Temu, and it was supposed to be like the one on the right in the red set, but it's noticeably thinner and with a smaller metal insert. So even if they apparently look the same, you can find chink products of wildly variable quality.

Oh, i never considered that.. I mean i knew chinese stuff varied, but id figure for something like spatulas, theyd all just use the exact same molds and materials and specs for the product.
        Thats really irritating...
