High Fructose Corn Syrup

Why are food manufacturers trying to kill us?
>Buy ground pork, has HFCS

When will this meme end?

HFCS is just concentrated sugar and cheaper due to corn subsidies. It's not much different than regular sugar. The issue, as you point out, is that they put it in fucking everything and they really shouldn't. Not everything needs to be a sugarshock.

Not only is it not different, it is molecularly identical. It's just extracting the fructose (sugar) from corn, the exact same process euros use to get sugar from sugar beets (the sugar crop euro government subsidise since corn doesn't grow as well there), and what more southerly lands use to extract sugar from sugarcane. 'Sugar' is just the common name for fructose. The only real difference is HFCS doesn't go through the extra step of reducing it to sugar crystals, because it makes no difference to the end-stage product. Thinking HFCS is 'chemical poison' is the same as thinking corn is chemical poison.

        >'Sugar' is just the common name for fructose.
False. "Sugar" is sucrose, which is a glucose molecule and a fructose molecule stuck together. High fructose corn syrup has been modified to have more fructose. Fructose tastes sweeter than glucose or sucrose.
Every cell in the body can use glucose, but fructose has to be processed in the liver, where it can cause liver disease if too much is consumed

Fructose specifically means 'plant sugar', as in the sugar that is natural to plants. It's what makes fruits sweet. 'Sugar' is an umbrella term for all saccharides, including fructose.

When you eat sucrose, your body splits it into glucose and fructose, it all passes through your liver regardless. I can read wikipedia too

But fruits have fiber which slows and lessens the impact of fructose on your liver. HFCS does not have fiber.

most abundant hfcs blend is the 40% variant, which has lees fructose per weight than sucrose.
but the High in its name nonetheless did a great job in baiting you homosexuals

Corn sugar is abundant in America because beat sugar is not trivial to harvest and process, the fruit rots quick in warm weather or being left in the ground so the logistics is a just in time nightmare that requires short distances

Fructose is converted to glucose in the small intestine. Consuming glucose alongside it (like in sucrose) increases the rate of this conversion, leading of less fructose spilling to the liver

Furthermore, since you fags like to say "fucking AmeriKKKorpos feeding LITERAL POISON unlike our Based and Trad EU regulators stopping them", EU research centres have admitted fructose is less unhealthy than sucrose.

            >EU research centres have admitted fructose is less unhealthy than sucrose.
nice try, shill, but your link doesn't say that. it says that fructose might have less of a post-prandial glycemic response. fructose has to be processed in the liver so it has less of a spike than glucose, which can be used straight from the bloodstream by every cell. and when loads of fructose gets processed in the liver, you get non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, which is an entirely different effect from what you posted

HFCS 55 and HFCS 70 have more fructose per weight than sucrose, and it is free fructose, so no sucrase is needed to convert sucrose into glucose and fructose. When consuming this, your body gets a huge spike of fructose, which fucks up your liver, shill

        >Not only is it not different, it is molecularly identical
        You are wrong.
So much of your retarded post is wrong.
HFCS is made through a chemical process that converts Corn starch to HFCS.
in addition, the fructose in HFCS is a little less than sucrose, but it's not a true disaccaride, in that the fructose is "Free"
These are all things that make an incredible difference in how you body, your LIVER to be exact, processes this shit.
I'll bet you think sucralose is safe too, after all, it is "Just a sucrose molecule with a Cl attached"
This doesn't even take into effect things like chirality, the thing that made Thalidomide so fucking deadly.
You know FUCK-ALL, and mindlessly vomiting out others' retarded misconceptions,(yes I mean at a fucking college level,) doesn't make you seem smugly smart, just like the turbo moron that you are.

Big Corn is an extremely influential lobbying group in Washington today. Keep in mind that the whole reason the food pyramid has bread and grain comprising the majority of our diets is because Big Wheat was extremely influential in Washington at the time. Now we have corn in our bread, in baby food, in our gasoline. It's insane.

      >HFCS is just concentrated sugar and cheaper due to corn subsidies. It's not much different than regular sugar.
It's not "much" different. But it is different. And those differences have profound implications for our health. Pic related.

There's a huge taste difference between HFCS and sugar. Americans have lost the ability to notice it, because HFCS is in everything. You give a blind taste test to a non-US person, trying an American-made snack with HFCS vs non-American made same brand snack with sugar, they will pick which is which everytime.

American companies exporting food overseas, use sugar in their export products. They only use HFCS for domestic products. If they export their HFCS slop, nobody buys it, because it tastes fake and corn-syrupy.

Amazing what they have done to you. Very sad.

There isn't. The whole anti-HFCS meme ultimately boils down to typical 'scary scientific name = unhealthy' combined with "Europe good America bad" shitposting that has developed into fudlore.

But fruits have fiber which slows and lessens the impact of fructose on your liver. HFCS does not have fiber.

Not all fruits, and fruits also have substantial amounts of carbs which stack on top of the sugar.
The ultimate point I'm getting at is that sugar in general is bad for you, not uniquely HFCS.

I'm not sure I can actually tell the difference between "Mexican" Coke and American. I'd like to believe I can but the fact that I'm second guessing whether I can actually tell or if it's all placebo strongly implies that even if there is a distinction, it's not a clear one. It's not like there's some chasm of difference between the two

The corn, s o y, and sugar subsidies were my final blackpill on American democracy. Private interest has so thoroughly corrupted our law-making and decision-making bodies that we are incapable of preventing a public health crisis which causes us vastly more money each year than the subsidies earn us.

        I hate this fucking country.
I hope we get in a war with China and we lose HARD. I hope they come in here and rape and murder and burn everything they see, because that's the only way this country will have a chance of reform.

, also live in America (in an East Coast city of millions) and have access to two French bakeries, two Italian bakeries and some pan eastern European bakery within walking distance of my house. There's also a pair of other batteries idk how you categorise as I've never been in either.
I can tell you that the French bakeries and one of the Italian ones absolutely do not use hfcs and the eastern Euro one, if they do at all, is likely only in their bagels. I'm not sure one way or the other on the second Italian bakery.
And that's not including the plethora of bakeries in "ethnic" parts of town, like the Polish district or the central Asian area or Little Armenia or Germantown. I don't think you're looking hard enough.
All that said, even among the soft-shit, pre-sliced bagged supermarket breads, there are literally dozens of varieties that are hfcs free and many with no added sugar at all.
Again: you're making a mountain of a molehill. Stop that

metabolic syndrome caused by refined sugar consumption effects 'skinny' people as well. they simply have all their lard surronding their organs rather than in their belly. its not about calories, its about consuming poison that wrecks your metabolism and damages your liver.

I've never been fat, but I was at danger of becoming fat when I was younger because I was eating just goyslop/carb garbage. Then I switched to eating more regular whole foods and much less sugar, and that helped. But I never got completely rid of my problems until I just cut out carbs extensively and ate primarily animal products. You really have no idea how bad the standard diet is until you've been off it for a long time, and trust me you will notice the difference. I have tried going back to carbs several times just to see what happens and I get disappointed every single time. Its just not comparable at all.
