I don't know, it ruined strawberry icecream for me as a kid, I didn't want the cheap-ass gross strawberry bits in there. The only explanation I can imagine is that some dipshit company had a worthless focus group that said they wanted strawberry chunks and here we are.

I just searched and it looks like blue bunny soft strawberry is what you want
hell most of the neapolitans have strawberry chunks in them these days

      >hell most of the neapolitans have strawberry chunks in them these days
I noticed this too, I had to buy the Publix brand (not that there's anything wrong with Publix food) neapolitan because the rest had strawberry chunks in them.

For you strawberry chunk/bit/pieces haters, do you enjoy fresh strawberries? What about strawberries in other things, like cakes or pies? Chocolate covered strawberries?

I don't every really eat fresh strawberries, but they'd be fine in a dessert that didn't make them all gross and soggy. Like dried strawberry bits in a cookie or a cake or something would probably be fine.

I like plain-ass cherry ice cream but it's always cherry vanilla or cherry chocolate chip. I hate chocolate chips in ice cream. : (
It's actually what started me making my own ice creams, the fact that I wanted cherry ice cream without any of that bullshit, peach ice cream without the cobbler and other simple things like that.

I would be happy if I could find a plain cherry flavored ice cream even without the chocolate chips if it didn't have the cherry bits in there.

My homemade ice cream blitzes the cherries completely smooth so there aren't any bits or chunks. Super easy, too. Worst ice cream to make at home is mango because it's so fibrous and staining it can be a b***h.

I've always been a genuinely curious person and like to know about people. I think it makes me a good dad, asking my kid why he likes or doesn't like something so I guess it is a bit of a parental thing, yeah.

What I don't understand is what anon said that was so "monumentally stupid." Plain ice cream exists and is common pretty much everywhere except the anglosphere so I knew exactly what anon meant when he mentioned it. I've gotten similarly befuddled reactions as he did when I mentioned that my best friend, who is the most boring person on earth, is so disinteresting that his favourite ice cream is "plain (no, not vanilla)" and his favourite snack is plain-ass rusk.
Maybe I didn't get called dumb because I immediately identified it as something other than vanilla.

Italy. There are plenty of fluorescent neon green pistachio ice creams with no nuts in them in Italy. It was my favourite flavour when I was a kid and I first asked for it because green was my favourite colour when I was 4 and no other reason. I didn't even know what pistacchio was when I was that age. I just wanted the green shit.
