That's the neat thing, you don't.

It was at my local stores for $133/bottle but there were only 32 bottles available and they were in a lottery and I didn't get picked.

That is one thing you can find here at least, every store gets 1-2 dozen bottles of blantons every single month, the entire year. As long as you're not lazy you can easily get a bottle once every month or two.

The liquor manager at my local Pavilions is a smug homosexual and initially lied to me saying the place doesn't get any allocated stuff because they don't sell enough reg bourbon that's on shelves.

Saw someone post about allocated stuff at the spot on a FB group, went there right after work that day and some kid went to the back and grabbed me a Stagg and EH Taylor SB.

Went back again two weekends after and asked some young guy if they had anything in the back and he goes to talk to the liquor manager who responds like a little fricking baby and can't even address me and look me in the eyes and just says "We don't have anything!" while looking at the wine shelves.

What do I do about this? Clearly this gay is full of shit and either hoarding shit for his buddies or buying most of it himself and reselling.

If its an independent store, nothing you can do.

If it's a larger chain you can try to complain to someone higher up. If it's government-run, you just need to complain to the liquor authority for the region.

Pavilions is a chain and I've thought about complaining to the store manager. On one hand I don't like to be that guy on the other hand I want this piece of shit liquor manager to stop blowing smoke up my ass and just tell me if you've got allocated stuff in the back or not.

he's literally trying to get you buy the shit that induces them more allocated bottles.
        >oh you want Blantons?
        >well I could have a bottle for you, but I really need to off load these 3 dozen cases of Benchmark first *winks*
simply dont give them your business because the next handful of DEI shitskins will fall for the scam instead. you can try to put them in the hot seat, but likely will only help them.

I buy stuff from him all the time so his problem isn't that I'm just trying to get allocated stuff from him. I've bought OGD, High West Campfire, Chartruese, vermouth, etc from his liquor section so I'm not some tater just trying to score allocated stuff from him so I'm not sure why he's such a dick head.

most places are pretty serious about not letting employees/managers frick with the allocated bottles since it's a good way to lose your access to those bottles if it's found out (and being done on a large scale)

            Anonymous

Good to know, gives me a little more faith that this guy isn't a scum bag and is just tired of everyone coming in daily and asking him about allocated stuff.

Thing is the time I did get a bottle of Stagg & EH Taylor SB there I asked the kid who grabbed em from the back if they ever get put out on shelves and he said no so if you're never gonna put it on shelves why are you so ass blasted about people asking if there's anything in the back?

At my local store allocated bottles are put out on the front desk on the day they're released, if any remain after that, they go on the shelf behind the counter (but still in view).

is there a club or membership they offer where they can track your purchases? that's how my specialty shop handles "raffles" and other gay shit.

Pavilions is a high end grocery store here so they don't really get that deep into the whole tracking your purchases or raffle for allocated stuff they just get it and first come first serve.

I wish there was a liquor store around me that did raffles or kept track of your purchases to give out allocated stuff. Every liquor store owner here is a scumbag who jacks up allocated stuff 2-3x MSRP or makes you buy the bottle in a bundle with a bunch of trash you don't want. Our only big box liquor chain is Total Wine and while they track purchases and give out stuff to the high spenders this is SoCal we're talking about so the highest Diamond Club members are spending several thousands more than I am.

One of the few benefits to goverment (state/county) run liquor is they don't markup over MSRP (all profits go back into the local government budget anyway) and they tend to be fair with how they dole out the rare bottles. Either first come first served, or lottery drawings.

Sounds like a better situation than we have here although you may be waiting significantly longer to get anything at least you wont get gouged for it.

I also did forget we have Bevmo here too as a big box liquor retailer but as far as I know they don't do any kind of membership stuff for allocated bottles like Total Wine does it's just first come first serve.

I did snag an EH Taylor Small Batch today from Total Wine @ MSRP but I feel like a bit of a gay lining up at opening just to get a bottle at MSRP.

                >although you may be waiting significantly longer to get anything at least you wont get gouged for it.
Yeah I'm lucky enough that my County has some of the richest c**ts in the nation so my local store has a somewhat absurd choice of rare bourbon/scotch/whisky/wine/champagne available. Though far outside my price range in most cases.

The rare stuff is available first come first served on the 2nd Saturday every month, and then once or twice a year in a lottery drawing.

From where do you suppose? I feel like online stuff is all overpriced 2-3x MSRP just like homosexual liquor store owners. Not only that but online you're opening yourself up to being scammed.

I've put bottles in my cart at Seelbach's & Shared Pour but both have ridiculous shipping prices although maybe it's justified with whatever they use for packaging to ensure the bottle doesn't break.

I was looking at that Found North Helldivers recently online and Shared Pour didn't even send out the email that it was stocked on their site till 10 minutes after it was posted and for even the people that were paying attention to the drop time they said it sold out in less than a minute.

Use wine searcher to find cheapest price.
I've had good experiences with K&L Wine Merchants and Hi-Time Wine Cellars.
They do flat rate shipping so same rate for 1 bottles or like 3-4 bottles, so order multiple bottles - that way you're only paying like $5 per bottle so it's more reasonable that way.
I've gotten a lot of whiskies which aren't locally available via mail order. Have been satisfied with the experience/price every time and haven't gotten scammed.

as for online orders, the place I use is 100% legit and I can get 2 bottles shipped/delivered inside a week from over seas for about $20 a bottle(currency exchange) and they use these bubble tubes for all standard orders.
