Heard the President of McDonalds on the radio tonight saying the $18.00 Big Macs are a bullshit meme, probably started right here on Culinaly.

That said, the only fast food I do nowadays is Taco Belle and Little Squeezers, as they have the best cost-to-weight ratio. I can get five soft tacos and two cheesy bean & rice burritos or a hot & ready pizza and a crazy bread for under $15.00.

We use to get two beef chalupas and two cheesy potatoes in 2006 for $5.05. The same thing now cost $15. It's moronic. Taco Bell is only worth it when they have $5 chalupa boxes and they don't have those right now.

Mcdonalds isn't so bad if you use the app. They almost always have a %50 coupon on there so you can get two QPC and two fries for like $8.

There's a theory that fat fricks are more sensitive to certain plant toxins and/or pesticides which puts them in a state of hunger 24/7. Obviously it's not going to be economical to eat meat all the time (very healthy for you btw) so they instead gulp down simple carbs like crazy and most people don't realize this also includes things like white rice/pasta from ramen. 0 nutrition but it keeps the hunger under control for like 30 minutes tops.

    I'm 6ft and 375lbs.

Bread, rice, pasta etc. are all relatively cheap and fill you up and are very easy to overindulge in to the point you end up fat as frick. I eat to excess because that is my personal vice I use to cope with my lifes woes. Some people drink, some people do drugs, some people live for the drama of stirring shit. I eat. Yes, logically and rationally I should not eat as much as I do and yes I should lose a lot of weight, but when it comes down to it life is full of stress and suffering and food is the only escape I have. Even if I did overcome this vice and become thing and healthy and fit, I'd still be miserable. I'd still be depressed. I'd still be stuck here on this Earth with the rest of you.

The food pyramid. Most people can't imagine something as simple as cauterizing a thin cut of meat on both sides for like 5 minutes being classified as a "meal" when their school tought them that they need to eat animal feed in order to be "healthy".

      >I dont get why people are so averse to cooking
Feminism. Ever since we let them vote feminists have been working to dissuade any female that would listen from being a home maker and home cook. They equated being a home cook to slavery. This broke any generational knowledge pass down for cooking knowledge, and now most modern women are unable to cook. And weak men of course absorbed the cooking = evil patriarchy from feminists and followed along like good little simps.

Now cooking has made a bit of a comeback thanks to foodtubers and meal services, but this is why it's mostly men in that space and the women are foreigners without the feminism brain rot.

The food pyramid. Most people can't imagine something as simple as cauterizing a thin cut of meat on both sides for like 5 minutes being classified as a "meal" when their school tought them that they need to eat animal feed in order to be "healthy".

Did anyone take that gov't propaganda seriously? Apart from shills paid to? I don't remember it even being shilled hard either. It was just a poster somewhere that everyone ignored on the way to the fast food served at the school.

        >Feminism. Ever since we let them vote feminists have been working to dissuade any female that would listen from being a home maker and home cook.
I don't think you realize how many women were absolutely horrible cooks before women in the workplace became common. Those "my wife can't cook" jokes comedians used to tell resonated with people because of how goddamn bad a lot of wives were at cooking.

          Anonymous

I've been thinking that might have been more of a cultural thing. The woman from the Sicilian side of my family are all good cooks. My sister can cook okay, but is good at the recipes passed down and great at baking. The woman from the Irish side of my family are good at a handful of things, but overall merely okay cooks at best.
But this somewhat reinforces that Anon's feminism take as well, since the women on the Sicilian side strongly resonated with traditional family values even if they did have jobs. Whereas the women on the Irish side resonated relatively less strongly.

It's both. You have to look in high and low places to find okay-slop for a good price.

For instance a few years ago Chipotle had a big scare over E.coli, because a shipment of romaine lettuce had been contaminated (there are a shocking amount of romaine recalls per year nationwide), and the prices haven't been too bad over the last few years (probably not related though). If you go to Chipotle late at night just before close (around 15-30 mins before close) and order any bowl from the menu, the employees are typically all too happy to give you food they would otherwise have to throw out. If you're nice to the employee serving you and get "half and half" portions (half black and pinto beans, half cilantro and brown rice etc). You can land about 2 or 3 portions for the price of one. If you split it up over two meals, that can be between 5 or 9 dollars saved per "meal" (assuming bowl prices are between 10 and 15 dollars)

Food from chipotle is probably less bad for you than MacDonalds, gram for gram.
