How the FRICK do I clean this shit?

I feel like I've been good about cleaning this tray in my toaster oven often but after 2 years it has just gotten worse and worse and I can't figure out how to get it off completely.

Yes, I'm moronic.

JUST soak in water and then use Bar Keeper's Friend to scrub or soak in water with Bar Keeper's Friend mixed in? I think I have some of this shit hidden somewhere in my house.

You wanna use the friend with some water

Soaking in water won't do much for that. It's polymerized fat and whatever else, so it's hydrophobic. The coal looking bits will scrub off without soaking, anyway. Bar Keeper's Friend is great, but that's going to take some serious work to get clean at this point. It's possible, but you're just going to have to scrub like a madman, and based on the weird looking finish on the relatively clean area at the bottom, I wouldn't count on the finish holding out to that level of scrubbing.

Baking soda and vinegar works surprisingly well.

      >baking soda and vinegar
      so, basically, water?

        Anonymous

No, not really. The reaction between the two helps to lift the caked on burns, not to mention that the baking soda acts as a micro abrasion.

just because your brain sees foamies doesn't mean it's doing anything. they cancel each other out

            >dileberatly missing the point this hard
Try it and see for yourself. First apply the baking soda with a little water, scrub it in, then add the vinegar. I've saved a couple of pans and pie tins this way.

grab one of those homosexual dishwasher pods, break the plastic open
    wear gloves
the stuff inside is concentrated to frick and will clean all that off if you scrub with it

      Why are dishwasher pods homosexual?

        Anonymous

The homosexuality reacts with fatty acids helping to break them up.

Get yourself some caustic soda. Shit will strip paint. Also get a gas mask because the fumes will make you cough and probably frick your lungs if you inhale them too much.

You turn the oven on, get it good and hot then just take this out and deglaze it with water.

I use Dawn Power Dissolver for shit like that. I also use it to strip paint off of miniatures. I bought a case of it. Works great for both, Spray it on. Let it sit for a bit. Quick scrub and rinse. Good as new.

    >I can't figure out how to get it off
    use shorter strokes.

  20. 2 months ago

It doesn't even look like you tried hot water, soaking and Dawn. If that doesn't work, Bartender's friend/soft scrub, then Brillo (the kind with the soap in it). If that doesn't work, take it outside and hit it withsome Easy Off oven spray, which is what you'd do if your self-cleaning oven didn't handle the mess.

I encourage you to wipe out the surfaces with your damp sponge between uses, like when you're loading your dishwasher and cleaning up each night. It's the same logic as wiping off your stovetop between uses, because failure to get oils off the surface creates baked on oils.
Also, cover your foods, when possible. That looks like splatters.

There's oven cleaner foam spray like this, just spray it on and leave it a few hours, then you can usually just brush it off, if not everything comes off, just wipe dry after rinsing and repeat.
