Here is the defacto perfect rice recipe. It is superior to every other recipe in all ways except convenience and expediency. Follow the directions exactly and you will have perfectly cooked rice at the end. Works best for sushi rice, but it works with all types of rice.

    PERFECT RICE:
    1. Weigh rice on scale note weight.
    2. Rinse rice with copious amounts of room temp to cold water until water runs semi clear to clear. The more the better
    3. Place rice in bowl and cover with 2-3 inches of filtered water. Wait 30 minutes or until rice appears opaque and crumbles easily when pressed between fingers.
    4. Drain rice by placing in a strainer and let stand in strainer for 25 minutes.
    5. Place equal parts rice and filtered water in a high walled pot. Cover rice.
    6. Put heat on max temp and start a timer.
    7. Once steam starts coming out of pot or water starts boiling turn heat to 2-3 or very low and cook for how long it took to reach boil.
    8. Once time is up turn off heat and let sit for 15 minutes without touching.
    9. Fluff rice with plastic or wooden rice scoop. Serve.

Another easy method. 2 cups rice 3 cups water
Don’t rinse, Rice in pan with butter and salt, toast slightly, add boiled water and cover, cook on lowest setting for 20 min, do not open lid until 20min is up, fluff and serve. It’s a life changer
Or just get a decent rice cooker for 20$
Just add however much rinsed rice you want and cover with 1 inch of water and press the on button

2:3 ratio is way too much water bro. you end up with rice mush

Perfect ratio is somewhere between 1:2 to 1:1.5

    much easier way:
2 big handfuls of rice in a pan
add about 1L of boiling water and a tablespoon of salt
turn your stove on and stir the rice for about 5 seconds
the most important part, DO NOT TOUCH THE PAN OR STIR THE RICE for 9-11 mins
drain the water through a colander or sieve
put the rice back in the pan with no water
put a towel over the top for 3 mins to allow the rice to absorb moisture
    eat it

My tip is - you need to cook the rice until all the water is absorbed, but if you smell something burnt you've gone too long. I'd say you have about a 5 minute window between all the water drying up and a burnt bottom.

put a cup of rice and two cups water in a pot
bring to boil, then turn heat down until it's just kinda bubbling

    1. Buy a rice cooker. Doesn't need to be fancy. Mine cost $19 from a major electrical franchise store and its the best one I've ever used. I'm SE Asian.
    2. Remove the non stock bucket from the rice cooler and fill with raw rice. 1 cup=2 serves. Cover with water, swirl around and tip out the water. Do this two times.
    3. Refill with water until it covers the rice by 2 to 3 cm (roughly 1 inch)
    4. Press the button on the rice cooker and walk away. The cheap ones only have one button so no need to think. Rice is ready when the button pops up and the cooker will then switch to "keep warm mode".
