I fricking love tinned fish. Sardines tinned in mustard or olive oil.

I fricking love tinned fish. Sardines tinned in mustard or olive oil. Smoked herring, sprats in tomato sauce, anchovies in garlic and olive oil. The salty, smokey, oily and fishy flavors with dash of hot sauce. Holy fricking shit I can't get enough. On toast, on crackers, on a roll with cream cheese and capers. Healthy, substantial protein with fatty omega 3s, lot's of antioxidants, calcium in the spine that melts in your mouth.

        Pretty much.

I prefer the Riga sprats in the glass jars but it's all pretty great. Btw, if you are exploring the dank aisles of your local Polish grocery.... with the flickering tube lights, the loud men in track suits yelling consonant clusters into their cell phones, and the 65yo woman with exposed cleavage who will cook you pan-fried pierogi with onions for $5..... anyway, next time you're there looking for fish, get picrel with some dark bread and Polish lager. Toast bread, apply orange paste to bread, insert into face hole, swig Zwiec. Shit's cash.

Unfortunately hard for us to find locally. You can get it on Amazon, but it's expensive, and a lot of them have bad reviews, and it's hard to tell if the bad reviews are legit, or bullshit from tastelets like

      You people are fricking gross

who hate fish but decided to order some because of some keto Youtuber or whatever.

The one I posted is good, and it's pretty prolific. IT has 3 languages printed so look for it in your generic yuro food store. Although I'd guess this leans heavily to east europeans.

I'm about to eat this, my plan is to put it on wheat breadloaf with dijon mustard and a little lemon and pepper. I hope it will be good.

Russian cod liver's the best, it's cheaper and you get a whole lobe of liver instead of little pieces.

Why would you fry already-cooked fish? It'd just dissolve you silly weirdo.

        >Why would you fry already-cooked fish?
I do apologise, I live in a country where we get fresh food and the sprats I have always eaten don't come in tins, pre-cooked.
Did you know that food exists outside of your local Walmart? Crazy but true!

Yeah here in America we don't get meat or fish unless it's in tins.

Damn I was wondering how we roped you idiots into being the meat shields to protect Europe's more important bits. But now I understand - you're moronic.

How do you deal with the bones on such tiny fish

      Anonymous

You have to manually pick every bone out of even the smallest tinned fish. It can take 2-3 hours to eat a tin, that's how difficult it is. Tinned fish bones get even harder than they are when the fish is alive, you could easily die if you ate even the smallest tinned fish bone. It'll just shred your guts to pieces.

Back in the olden days people to comb their hair with fish bones, believe it or not.

This is why you have to pick every bone out of every tin of tinned fish. One bone will KILL you.
