creme fraiche barely uses any buttermilk, it's like 1 tablespoon of buttermilk: 1 cup of cream

    How good does buttermilk taste?

It’s so acidic it lasts a long time. It ain’t like regular milk. I made biscuits recently with some buttermilk that had an October expiration date.

It’s good in things. Drinking it is not great.

      >Store-bought buttermilk is thicker, tangier, and more acidic than traditional or homemade buttermilk. If you're preparing a recipe that calls for buttermilk, it's best to stick with store-bought, especially in baked goods that depend on precise leavening.

        Buy the powdered shit

Powdered doesn't have the same viscosity or acidity as the real deal. Try making fried chicken with powdered buttermilk

it's in cake and muffin recipes, biscuits, and for marinating and breading recipes. I think you should have had a longer shelf life than 1 week? Yes you can just drink it.
