Why haven't you eaten in a week? Make sure to get some electrolytes and especially zinc to prevent kidney damage.

I'm 31 years old and haven't gone a single day in my life without eating. This seems so incredibly unnatural and unhealthy to me. No animal alive would purposefully avoid food - it is one of our most fundamental needs and drives. There can be nothing healthy, in itself, abkut purposeful starvation. The only benefit I could see is for instrumental reasons to avoid something EVEN unhealhier (eg you're morbidly obese).

What animal other than a neurotic human would purposefully deny its own bodily needs, subsist off its body fat when an alternative was available and just in general cause itself to physically and mentally suffer?

You are mentally sick which is why you do something so utterly retarded. Eat food. NOW!

      It's not by choice

That's because you're brain is slowly shutting down my dude. You might want to not push yourself past that point in the future. Just some food for thought 🙂

It's basically biology brosky. If you stop eating for an extended period your organs will start to give way and you will become lethargic and even have feelings that make no sense at all (aka delusions). Beyond a certain point, you simply stop functioning if you aren't properly sustaining basic biological functions and you may end up passing out without warning. I mean hey, if you can push yourself right to the limit and know your potential, that's honestly great and respectable. But there's a very good reason why your body sends out certain responses and it would be very unwise to completely ignore those signals past a certain point. Believe me, I've been there and done that before and you gotta know your limits.

What you're saying is that you're physiologically dependent on food. That's the literal definition of addiction bro, seek help

It's called basic human biology, numbuts. If you don't eat, at some point you will die. I'm not sure how much simpler of an explanation you need to get such a vital point across. I think you are the one that needs serious help if that concept is so foreign to you.

                >I will literally die if I don't eat food
This is what an addict looks like, folks. This is your brain on food. Let's all hope and pray that his family sends him to a fat farm before he dies of a heart attack or some other preventable illness, and that he can stay clean afterwards.

we developed as an endurance hunter species, have multiple natural processes and even organs designed to handle sudden caloric spikes and are the only animal capable of going against instinct. I won't even begin to touch upon the archaeological, anthropological and historical evidence of and cultural enrichment by periodic fasting. even from a purely psysiological standpoint your assertions are unconvincing

        >le endurance hunter meme
        >built to fast
completely wrong, actually the opposite, we are built to walk long distances daily to scavenge for plants to gather and eat lol

there are several animals who only eat once or twice a month because how long it takes them to digest what they eat
hell cats eat until they are full

Went 26 days, aimed for full 30 but my friend had birthday and I drank half a bottle of vodka. I felt sick for a couple more days trying to continue the fast, but I don't think I've ever felt worse so I drank juice and then it was over.

I did throw up after drinking it though. And I didn't even get drunk, it's like my organism refused it. Still felt seriously poisoned before I drank some juice.

duuuuude if I drink booze even after missing a meal or two my guts turn to pure bile diarrhea and I get trashed as fuck in the first 5 minutes. I cannot fathom:
      1. how you could possibly have truly fasted for 26 days
      2. how you could have survived vodka in the midst of that

also wtf gives? why did you do this? were you trying to lose 180lbs all in one go or what?

I was just testing my physical capabilities and had a month of free time on my hands. I'm not even fat. It was my summer break research project, so to speak.
And yes, it was a pure water fast. By the end of it I was watching food channels 24/7.
The worst thing is inability to poop when you know and feel that there's still something inside you. I regret not preserving the poop rock that I battled for 14 days, it was a very personal rivalry.
To top it all off, I was still dipping that 'bacco through the whole thing.

Of course it won't. Sure, you will lose muscle mass and feel weak for a week or so, but nothing permanent as long as you are young and healthy.
