Nothing wrong with that. Did anyone find the 1 steakhouse that doesn't serve it?

Add a couple splashes to stews, spaghetti sauce, some soups, etc. Nice little bit of depth.

      >Is it like barbeque sauce?
Sort of. Star with barbecue sauce, remove most of the sugar, then add a little smoke flavor.

It tastes like someone sucked the sugar out of bbq sauce

it's a lot thinner than bbq
      not sweet and very tangy
      a taste of it's own
      it's fricking expensive though

      >is this brown sauce for americans?
A1 is actually a brown sauce from the UK just like HP, but since the 1950s was overtaken by HP as the most popular brand.

Do those two taste the same? A1 and HP? never had A1 and HP ist pretty much the same taste as Worcestersauce. Or Tonkatsu sauce.

Yeah they are all brown sauce, which is basically a thick worcester sauce, as is tonkatsu and yakisoba sauce.
Obviously they all have their slight differences.
My favourite is Branstons Sauce, and Pickapeppa.

Hp doesnt taste like bulldog though

HP is more vinegary but the general flavour profile and spice blend is the same.
Personally I don't care for Bulldog, it's watery and inspid, much like Daddies Sauce.

The American A1 tastes different than hp and is much more runny. More of a worchestershire taste.
      It's damn good, though.

I worked at one and found a recipe in my pocket when I got home one day
      BRANDY BUTTER
      10 pounds butter
      2 big bottles A1
      1 cup worcestershire
      0.5 cup chopped garlic
      6 oz brandy
soften the butter and mix everything

this was brushed on the steaks before they were served
ENJOY or don't! see if I care bigshot

Just did a 1.5 AI jerky for my friend. She loves it.
    I could leave it.
My go to (for jerky) is soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, onion & garlic powder, and sea salt. 8 hr marinade (at least 6, no more than 24) and dehydrate at 150 for 4-6 hours, depending on thickness of cut.

Sorry, I love sharing recipes and your post reminded me. For meats, for me it's picrel

Is A1 sauce purely an American thing? I've never seen it before IRL, be it at shops or restaurants. What is, like BBQ sauce?
