I'll never understand guys that lose their minds when you just...don't eat meat. "Aaaaah but the protein!

I'll never understand guys that lose their minds when you just...don't eat meat.
"Aaaaah but the protein! You're eating like a peasant! Meat *has* to be the focal point of *every* meal!"
But then they turn around and stuff their face with chips, pizza, mac and cheese, and a bunch of other non-meat stuff.
You have to wonder how much those markets would collapse if they started leaning into the "we're vegan/vegetarian" angle.

I'll just say this. If I ran a prison then the entire menu would be vegetarian as a form of punishment, although I'd make the vegetarian dishes high quality because I'm not an butthole. Meat would only be served during the holidays. And yes I think vegetation is for peasants somewhat.

I'd rather go without meat than without dairy. I could eat bread, tomato sauce, and mozzarella cheese every day.

Same. Even as a kid when I had pizza or lasagna or something I'd want it without meat and lots of cheese.

Have to be careful about iron intake though. Dairy has no iron and makes it harder to absorb iron from plants.

Honestly, you're probably going more for the tomato and salt flavor than cheese flavor. Unsalted cheese tastes absolutely disgusting.

I wouldn't say it tastes disgusting. I've made fresh cheese before and it tastes fine without salt. Just really mild. Like solid milk.

Protein is just a lesser way of getting carbohydrates anyway. Idiots who grew up brainwashed by unhealthy parents think vitamins have to be filtered through an animal corpse to be able to get them lol

animals can eat grass, humans cannot. animals turn something inedible into something edible and highly bioavailable.

I don't see grass on that plate. Grass also isn't a very good source of glucose, neither is animal protein

Sorry, I meant lesser way of getting glucose. Carbohydrates are more efficient.

Nutrients from animal products are much more bioavailable. And it seems like some people might be unable to use the less bioavailable forms of some things from plants at all. Supposedly a not insignificant number of people can't properly convert beta carotene into usable vitamin A or B vitamins into usable forms.

    >I'll never understand guys that lose their minds when you just...don't eat meat.
Protein is the only macronutrient that builds muscle, including those of your vital organs. While fats support certain body functions, carbs do nothing but provide raw calories, making them the least essential of the three macros. Carbs are also the only macro you can safely live without. Additionally, proteins raise your insulin response far less than carbs, especially refined or sugary ones, improving your calorie-energy efficiency while reducing your risk of contracting various diseases. It is therefore extremely illogical and unhealthy to have a "meal" that contains only carbs and/or fats but no protein. While meat is not strictly necessary to provide protein, it is a common and affordable source for its protein density.
    >But then they turn around and stuff their face with chips, pizza, mac and cheese, and a bunch of other non-meat stuff.
No they don't. Unintelligible strawman from a nutrient-deprived brain incapable of thinking straight.

nope. you can easily live without much fat, and too much protein is literally poison. trying to live without carbs = diabetic ketoacidosis waiting to happen

Meat doesn't have to be the focal point of every meal, but you should still consume it at least occasionally. Also most of the truly dominant civilizations on this earth have been major dairy consumers.

It's nearly impossible to get even close to a balanced healthy diet without meat. Active people should be eating at least 1 lb of meat per day.
