Is Fusilli the pinnacle of pasta engineering?
How can other shapes compete with its compact size and sauce catching perfection?

what's the difference between fusilli and rotini?

rotini is a tube of pasta formed into a spring like shape with a hole in the middle
meanwhile fusili is twisted so it resembles a screw, with a filled core at the center

Cascatelli allegedly shits all over every other pasta shape, with superior sauce retention, forkability and bite.

Too annoying to get on the fork. And the ridges simply don't work as described.

      Meme shape.

just use a spoon? it's small pasta, you don't need to spool it like spaghetti.

When I think fusilli I think pasta salad. For bolognese I use penne.

Cascatelli hands down. It’s the perfect pasta shape and has replaced all other pasta shapes for me except for the long string shapes. It’s $6.99 a box at Whole Foods but well worth it.

    >sauce catching perfection
I used fusilli for years for that reason then recently switched back to spaghetti. Sure it doesn't hold much sauce, but it's much quicker to eat and so stays hot. Fusilli gets cold before I finish. I'm tempted to try mixing them 50/50 to get the best of both.
