Yeah, it also works well as a space heater, just remember to close the window.

You're probably not going to generate enough co or co2 to kill op with 1 can of butane in a typical college dorm room

What? Cast iron works well with induction stoves.

of course cast iron cookware works on an induction hob, but having a high thermal mass can trigger the sensor placed underneath the glass to prevent overheating.
it's usually not an issue with legit induction cooktops, but with cheap portable ones it happens all the time.

ive never looked at these but my electric is all fucked and i cant afford an electrician. can you buy one that is made for big tanks or do you usualy just buy a cheap one and an adapter? i noticed all the youtube people using these things and even the asians in like thailand in the city. figured it would be a great way to not be stuck with just an isntapot and an air frier and actually be able to make something good again.

You can get a one or two burner stove that takes the large propane tanks for $35 to $100 depending on quality and your luck in shopping for deals. Home Depot, Tractor Supply, etc sell them but their prices are kind of high. Asian markets may also have them if you ask around.

Are Westermongs too stupid to use gas burners or something. Here in Asia, we use them all the time. Just make sure to buy quality regulators and check the connections are well clamped.

yeah just close all your windows, make sure to get every crack around your doors with rags then puncture the can and light a match over your food
the heat from the gas cooks the steaks

Your cast iron should work with induction

I don't think it would be allowed and would set off the fire alarm. People frown on highly flammable fuel cans in a dorm room

I have that exact stove (different branding though because china) and I use it for camping all the time. Never had a problem, made plenty of meals and the gas cans are about $1 for 3-4 hours of cooking. I also hate that induction sudden drop of temp shit, I'd say get the portable. Just use it on the existing stovetop for the hood vent.

I'd get an electric frying pan. Comes with a lid and you won't have a nice day from creating nerve gas when you cook.

are you allowed to have it in the building? when i was an ra i was asked to confiscate personal use burners/elements all the time but for some reason it was only ever asian exchange students that had them and they were always in the middle of cooking some sort of soup and they could barely understand me so i just pretended i never saw anything

    >i just moved to university and we only have a shitty induction stove
then move out and get a better sharehouse or apartment dipshit
you're the idiot that chose to rent a place with a broken kitchen
also remember your landlord is legally required to fix that shit at his own expense or he'll get dragged through the courts for it

Good to have in case of prolonged power/gas outage. aka, for those who live in areas of severe weather or earthquakes.

Get a single electric burner instead
    >no fuel cost
    >not 100% portable though
For your situation I would call that a win. You're not planning on camping with it, and I'm sure your room has a few outlets

Buy your own induction stove. There's no way you're going to be allowed to keep a camping stove in your dorm since it cooks with an open flame.
