Having had Dom Perignon, though not the rosé version, I would say no.

shit's 15 years newer than i am but considered vintage? smells like a ripoff
champagne in general tastes like shit unless it's the yummy apple juice kind with bubbles

Too highly priced now, no way I’m paying +$300 for a bottle of bubbly.

OP if you’ve got that thing in your hand you need to:
      1) put your thing down
      2) flip it
      3) reverse it

Anything older than 4 years is considered "vintage" or "XO"

'Vintage' isn't about how old it is but rather that all the wine it's made from came from a single year (a single vintage), rather than it being a blend from wines across many years as sparkling wines including champagne often are. Any champagne marked with a specific year is 'vintage'.

Vintage champagne has more variability from year to year but typically vintage champagnes are the better and more age-worthy bottlings from most producers.

Dom can be very good depending on the year but it's overpriced for sure. It's got so much name recognition that it can get away with charging a lot more than it's worth. If you look for smaller grower-producers you get a lot better quality for the price.

I'm pretty sure "vintage" just means "a year of grapes" or something to that extent. 2006 vintage just means grapes from 2006, that's all. Some years have better weather for growing them in different places, so some vintages are better than others.

no, even a $5 bottle of cooks is better. if you really want to spend money buy veuve (which is still cheaper)

Rosé champagne is never worth it. You're paying 3x as much for it being a true champagne, but you're getting a rosé, so it's not true to the method that made the region famous.

If you want a sparkling rosé, get one from literally any other region in France.

never had it but considering you can find good quality champagne for under $30, I'm guessing it is overpriced relative to taste

Like most things rich people consume (caviar, foie gras, edible gold) it's not worth it. I get $25 a bottle proseco which tastes the same or better than the expensive crap. It's all a show of wealth.

by all means save your money if you have gutter palate, but charmat tastes nothing like champenoise whether the wines are made in northern italy or northern france or the american southwest, you just have gutter palate and there is nothing to be ashamed of especially if you are american and white

yes they can tell you which grapes are sour without having to open the bottle first

Krug is better. Dom is Moet garbage water that's been over commercialized and made affordable for mass consumption. $150 isn't a lot of money. You get what you pay for with this. A standard bottle of Veuve is better, imo.

rule #1 of wine drinking is drink what you like
so if you like prosecco, you can have mine too

dom actually is better than most other sparkling wines
their does make smaller bubbles, and bubbles effect the taste
if you don't care, don't notice, or don't want to spend so damned much, then it's not worth it for you and you should buy something else
    anything you like
