No. The reason meat cooking smells good to us is because it's telling us the microbes are burning away and that the meat is becoming safe to eat.
People who ate raw meat got weeded out of the gene pool because it was bad for them

      >The reason meat cooking smells good to us is because it's telling us the microbes are burning away and that the meat is becoming safe to eat
you people spread as much nonsense as the raw meaters do. molecules break down when you cook food, which makes it more potent to taste and smell. that's why people like charring on their food, even though it is far from safe to eat

It's not that raw meat is good for you but that it's the only food you can eat in the first place. Look at the ignorance and pop science spouting by the posters before. The vegetables are indigestible and have anti-nutrients and even a quick google search shows that fiber can't be digested, some fruits are okay but sparingly and even cooking/pasteurizing meat, eggs and milk is by definition lowering the content and killing fat soluble vitamins and bacteria that you need absorb and digest it properly. They have zero arguments, just repeating things they never really researched.

What? That's the healthiest food and everyone thrives on it.

        >The vegetables are indigestible and have anti-nutrients
Wild vegetables, yes, cultivated ones are perfectly adapted for human consumption. One day people will learn to break down fiber too.
        >cooking/pasteurizing meat, eggs and milk is by definition lowering the content and killing fat soluble vitamins and bacteria that you need absorb and digest it properly
Ok sure thats a small trade-off you make in order to get rid of pathogens, what's wrong with that? If you get sick you will projectile-vomit and jettison all the nutrients out of your butthole, how's that for lowering the content?

        >perfectly adapted for human consumption
        >One day people will learn to break down fiber too.
See, you literally have brain damage and contradict on the very next sentence.
        >small trade-off
Yes, destroying your gut bacteria, digestion, getting no nutrients and immune system which is how you actually let them thrive in your body.

        ok wormbrain

Great argument, in reality plants are actually full of them. Even more amplified by the "people" who handle them.

I've eaten an entire raw steak many times and never gotten sick, always a very fresh one, though. I've also eaten a small amount of raw chicken breast before but that was probably stupid and I've spent years eating food that's slightly off or otherwise questionable quality so I don't know if I can recommend others try this

          >werks for me :^)
Thats a dumb, irrational argument. Fresh meat is a fertile ground for pathogenic organisms that would love nothing more than get into your body. Every animal on Earth would cook their food if they could. We should be grateful to possess the intelligence to actually do that instead of trying to "get back to da nature hurrr".

The problem you don't seem to understand is that most of that meat is parasite free thanks to modern health care ( the only thing that disgusting industry occasionally gets right) and a lack of filthy environment. In the old days nobody would have had either unless they where quite wealthy. Zoning wasn't a thing.

Everyone always says I have to “get the meat from a special place,” but they never say where. I feel like I’m subjected to a grand conspiracy

Raw meat is objectively better it's not even a debate among anybody who isn't moronic. Muscle tissue is very difficult to digest, cooking speeds up the process and makes the proteins significantly more available. The only reason to eat raw meat is pleasure.
    Cooking offal destroys nutrients, but:
A)offal can be so nutrient-dense it can poison you, so there is little downside to this
    B)raw offal is fricking disgusting

Cooking fruits and veges is where real debate happens, but (generally speaking) it is best to cook roots and mature plants, and to eat young plants and fruits raw. Exceptions do apply.

I hope this cleared up a few things.

There's nothing about raw meat that's better health-wise than adequately cooked meat. Cooking meat was one of mankind's earliest discoveries, rather you could say we became the humans we are due to the discovery of cooking.

"muh cro magnon" eating raw meat is not going to "boost your T" or make you "manly" or do anything other than occasionally give you worms.

      Anonymous

Cro-magnons didn't even eat raw meat, cooking literally pre-dates human existence. "Cooking = bad" is one of the most dysgenic movements possible.

i mean something like a blue rare steak is going to be fine, but something like raw pork risks food poisoning. nutritionally it does little aside from protein. veggies and fruits and nuts are what's good for you, not fad meme diets where you are eating raw meat cause some internet micro celebrity said it's manly or something
