this is bait fish, meaning there should be a label on it identifying it NOT for consumption, but instead just for bait. This means it was not immediately frozen and no care was taken to ensure it won't give you food poisoning.

Yeah, it's fine. I've had it as sashimi and I've had octopus while it was lively enough to try and crawl off the plate. Frankly, it's better, cooked, as long as it isn't tossed in a pan for 3 minutes and turned into a rubber band.

Do you? I don't trust the cleanliness. And is op talking about frozen or live or fresh. Frozen maybe. Fresh or live, not sure cause you don't know what liquid it was stored in or dirty ice cube.

Okay im a marine biologist and an autist, sea life has a fricking ton of parasites, a shit ton and may more than ground mammals and birds, fish if frozen for at least 24 hrs ensures to kill most if not eggs, larvae and juvelines of the most common parasites, now should you be worried about eating raw fish? Yes Japan, Korea and philipines have the hightes bile duct cancer rates and take a guess what causes that, flukes a kind of worm that is hosted by fish, it lodges in your bile ducts inflaming it and chronically damaging the tissues, surprinsigly the fix for this if taking albendazole aprox 6 months after eating raw fish at max and you get fine instantly, I got flukes from eating cebiche or whatever was called in Peru when I was in vacations (im a eurogay btw) I started literally shitting this worms, later I discovered Peruvians have the precaution of taking dewormers often because lf all the raw fish they eat, its well known in that zone unlike japs and koreans and other asians they just go by with their guts filled with vermin

So wat is the dewormer the pervians take?

Any wide spectrum should do, when I got back home the doc tried albendazole for the flukes along with antibiotics for a month, I nuked my guts and had to take probiotics becase I developed chronic runs, the doctor explained to me that this failed we might try a custom made dewormer, it was an ordeal because nobody knew flukes overhere and when the report of pathology came back it only said worm, but I knew it was flukes because of my degree and that helped shit anyways kek, thats the bad of ttaveling abroad you can return with diseases your healthcare is not familiar.
When I asked my air bnb contact which was peruvian she only said deworming pills so I guess just like for dogs there are wide spectrum ones that wipe most.

Also im still paranoid and gobble down over the counter dewormers every 7 months or so, because man fricking flukes are no fricking joke, I got terrified because they WILL literally give you cancer top kek.

Wow. So pretty much it's not something to take regularly just for not much of a reason. I don't think most North Americans have worms then.

There's a sushi place near me that has cuttlefish. It's not actually that great, but I like eating it just so I can say that I ate cuttlefish.
