Oh. Bare ones. Yeah, I think you're right. My mum had one she used exclusively for cooking an article dish from muh ethnicity. After she died, my brother got it and the dumb fuck and his wife don't eat cheese because vegan so they can't make the artichoke dish so the pan just collects dust on their fridge as a decorative piece and I hate it.
My family and I love artichokes and cheese so we'd actually use the thing. The pot is wasted on my brother and his family.

Oh and in the same vein, does ceramic count as a coating? I mean, yes, it's obviously a coating but it's not completely nonstick so my ceramic cast aluminium pot works decently enough for those artichokes I mentioned. Have you looked into ceramic coated ones?
it's because anodizing is now a thing and is piss easy to apply and can improve surface hardness, smoothness and can hold vibrant colors for manufacturers to safely put in to market these better to normalfags.
Acidic foods react with the aluminum and the metals become bio-available. Aluminum ingested in this way is know for increasing the risk of Alzheimer's.
Tomato paste used in a sloppy joe is acidic, but you would have to be using aluminum cookware improperly like that for years or decades to have a significant impact on your lifetime chance of Alzheimer's.
Maybe don't use that aluminum cookware for acidic food, now that you know. Or ignore me and do whatever the fuck you want, I don't care.
Uh sweaty we all cook in cast irons here

Hurrre durrr
I, too, own a cell phone
I only use cast iron for high temperature cooking, everything else I use stainless or GreenPan™ if I need "non-stick".
>cast aluminum pans aren't a thing anymore
Since fucking when?
I don't think I've ever seen a bare cast aluminum pan for sale in my lifetime. They all have some kind of coating, teflon usually.

>I am a zoomer so I am too scared to simply ask a family member if I could have something that was given to them that they don't care about

teflon goes on top but some pots don't have it.
Have one from the 70s, other than some small reparable dents from collision, its flawless. Also very light.
They're everywhere commercially.
Oooweee I'm Mr. Poopybutthole, look at me!
If you live in Louisiana you must own at least one piece of magnalite cookware.
because in the United States we only make foods and cookware that poison you.

So you're saying the manwich I made last night is going to give me Alzheimer's?
You'd still be less schizo than freaks like him anyway
