Buy dented cans and day old bread. The ultimate inflation hack is to find someone who is willing to buy meat on their EBT card and sell it to you at 50¢ on the dollar.

Dented cans are usually in a reduced price section at the back of the store, bread and other fresh stuff about to spoil usually gets marked down in the evening time after the rush hour, or first thing in the morning, time depends on the stores.

be more selective about what/when you buy and stock up when you can. between a combination of sales and app deals I always save as much as I spend, last trip I spent $80 for $200 worth of stuff

Reminder that while it is true the food is "free" in blue states, if you and your buddies steal long enough, the store you steal from will pack it in and shut down. And then you will live in a food desert.

Buy ingredients in bulk and avoid processed foods. Nearly everyone (in the 1st world) can afford a bag of rice, the cheapest meat cuts you can find and in-season fruit and vegetables.

A lot of people are just saying to walk out with stuff, but if you don't live in a post apocalyptic wasteland called a blue state, you can peel the sticker off vegetables from the organic section so you only have to pay for regular vegetables. You're not saving anything if you usually buy regular veggies but it's a good way to steal from handwringer grocery companies with basically no chance to get caught, and usually the organic stuff is a little better quality. I do this all the time because my store only stocks big baker potatoes in the organic section and it pisses me off.

You can grow herbs in a kitchen window
Don’t buy any processed packaged junk it’s all super overpriced because guaranteed EBT spending from all the welfare queens who can’t live without Doritos.
Dark meat chicken, ground meats, turkey, and pork are universally cheap. Ham can feed you for a week for like $10.
Cabbage, potatoes, pumpkins, onions, carrots are all pennies on the dollar and healthier than any garbage you usually eat. Rice is also dirt cheap.
Canned or dried beans lentils and chickpeas are top tier.
You can whip up everything from meatloaf to curried chicken drums and eat like a king for way less than you think it costs to eat good

Only eat bread and potoatoes as your source of carbs. Only eat ground beef as your source of protein. Then just drink milk to get the rest of your needed vitamins
