what's the connection between incels (specifically wildly ugly and anti-social men) and mead?
Is it due to an excessive consumption of video games?

I am interested in why mead in particular, I thought that was quite clear.
Also, I have never played Skyrim, so maybe there was some explanation based on the game

                No, I will not.
But I do apologize for causing you so much anger and making you act so defensive. You are like a wounded bird. I imagine you have not had an easy adolescence and perhaps have found the act of mead-making to soothe your existential woes.
If so, I would be interested in why mead exactly? Presumably it has been due to your need for escapism through video games; a refuge, where you weren't reminded of your perceived inadequacies as a social being.
But this is mere conjecture, hence the desire to obtain answers from one of these people. And you seem to fit the bill perfectly.

Sometimes its thinly veiled white nationalism. The skyrim to white nationalism pipeline is very real, though not directly connected.

Other times its hipsters who want to try brewing for the first time. Mead is considered easy and the ideal thing to get good at brewing before moving onto ciders, wines and beer.

Most times its just hipster alcoholics who are tired of drinking craft beers and wine in an effort to seem unique so they go to mead to be even more crazy and unique. They want to be "that guy who drinks mead" and try to convince everyone mead is awesome so that when it starts getting popular they can feel pride as being an early adopter. if and once it actually becomes common however they will likely move on to some other hipster shit.

Above average handsome but kinda awkward guy here, I drink mead on occasion because I'm an alcoholic and will drink anything twice.

However it is genuinely yummy, everyone here thinking all mead drinkers are just pretending to like it for larping/racist reasons are projecting hard as fuck.

Not everything is about politics or fashion, touch grass, all of you.

      >inb4 muh dipshit incel hipster cousin prattle on about how much he loves mead and drinks "like a viking" it's so forced ugh

God forbid your cousin is mildly annoying because he likes something, you're plenty annoying by prattling on about what you hate like that isn't way more tiresome by default.

Sap spirits are generally kino if properly brewed, aged, distilled, and blended. Maple, oak, birch, hickory, walnut, cherry, apple... all the hardwoods that aren't toxic, really.

Good mead doesn't taste like honey the same way wine doesn't taste like grape juice.
Crappy mead (which is extremely common) is like drinking alcoholic honey water

  4. 2 months ago

Mead that hasn't been backsweetened tastes like a very dry (to the point of tasting off) white wine. You can add extra honey to an already fermented mead to sweeten it but you have to use a chemical to kill any living yeast in the batch. If you made a dry mead and it tastes off it's probably lacking tannins which can be fixed by adding some strongly steeped black tea to your recipe.
