it's 2024 and we have AI that can write entire research papers, yet there still isn't a single site or app or way to get a full and detailed list of every single restaurant in my area by radius from my location. Google can't do it, it can only show you the most popular results, meanwhile tons of mom and pop places that are less than a mile from me in plazas require manual searches and knowing them by name just to see if they're good or to get info.
There has to be a way for restaurant completionists to scope out an area thoroughly. I just want to know what places by me are without having to wander in and ask or see a paper menu. Why is this still so hard in 2024?

Pic related is a perfect example of my problem. You zoom in at a certain level and see restaurants, but then if you zoom in more... (to be continued)

...look at that, even more restaurants. Ones that were purposely hidden and made invisible until I scoured the map. Why the frick is this okay? How do you disable this scaling? I want to see EVERY RESTAURANT in the region I'm looking at, not your curated and ad-revenue paid picks.

I was under the impression that Yelp was less useful due to the lessened user traffic and activity. Are you saying The Yelp will quell me of this problem once and for all?

and isn't every restaurant on Google before it is on Yelp? That's how people get the address and number and menu

Sure, but yelp's map is designed to show restaurants. Google's is not. Tripadvisor also works

For me the list mode on gmaps seems to list all the available options and you can add filters. I think the limited results on the map is either because they don’t want a million tags cluttering the map or perhaps the businesses who pay more appear before other businesses (completely guessing on that)

You'd be surprised at how much worse it's gotten now that the other 49 states have sent their worst citizens to live here. It's like peninsular North American version of Australia in the penal colony days.

why do you feel entitled to get a complete readout of an area? if a certain business doesn't make the effort to make themselves known on the internet, then that's their right. ever think that maybe they don't want nosy homosexual tourists like you at their establishment?

again: if they don't want to make their presence known that's their right regardless of how ill-informed it may be

      >why do you feel entitled to
you are a phenomenal fricking homosexual and you get to leave now.
      >if they don't want to make their presence known
if you think that that's what's going on here, you do not deserve to be on the internet without an in-person supervisor checking what you're typing. you are a trash person or just a genuine moron

they do have internet presence, that's the problem. these are all restaurants with websites that aren't being shown to people unless you seek them out while other restaurants are shown blatantly. You're again moronic

Use Yelp's business API and filter on your location. israelitegle maps might have an API now but they didn't 4 years ago.

Use Overpass Turbo. Go to chat GPT as type "write Overpass Turbo code to show all restaurants Tampa, Florida" and copy+paste whatever it spits out into the Overpass Turbo console.
    Wa la.
