The worst thing about this country is that they think more laws are how you fix problems. If they really want to deal with obesity just force doctors to tell people to lose weight more.

      Anonymous

Or taxing their way out of it. This is essentially a new tax as people who want to eat the same amount as before will have to buy two pizzas now, which will naturally cost more, and thereby can be taxed more.

The main thing that bugs me about shit like this is how exactly do they plan on enforcing it? It reeks of petty middle management tier nonsense that sounds like a great idea in the head of someone who doesn't actually work a real job.

          Anonymous

Random enforcement. Plus big chains will do it anyway to avoid fines. It is absolutely nanny-state bullshit, food is one of the few enjoyments left on this shithole and of course the British government cannot bear seeing people being happy.

Doctors know FRICK-ALL about nutrition except what they're told to regurgitate..
Besides, why cut into all that SWEET-SWEET pharma stock munny??
I'd trust a Veterinarian before I'd take the word of a "Doctor" after 2020..
Those fart-sniffing morons have the skillz to punch buttons on a laptop, and throw pills at symptoms--That's about it.
Now... Doctors from BEFORE 1980...That's a different story. Indoctrinated still, but WAY more based in patient care, instead of "A healthy patient is an UNPROFITABLE patient" mindset.
You know how much "Training'' they get in nutrition??
        >4-8 credit hours MAX
They still push shit like artificial sweeteners, even though the ScIeNcE has shown again and again that the result is overwhelmingly weight gain due to a fricked up metabolism.

It might be best that you see only top doctors or university tertiary care center physicians who are heads of department. Maybe you have nothing wrong with you, and that would be good, but I highly suggest you wait for the best and whatever you do ignore D.O.s They account for like 90% of the all medical mistakes and utterings of nutritional crap, especially distrust of big pharma.

Why not just force kids in school to go through an actual rigorous physical education instead of just a meme class where you play dodgeball?

Unironically society would be so much better if they taught and forced kids to lift in high school.

          Anonymous

This is only true if you have them doing heavy lifting before they hit puberty, otherwise high school varsity athletes (all of whom lift weights) would all be manlets. 14's a perfectly fine age to start lifting, you won't be trying to squat 3pl8 at 14 so it won't frick up your growth plates.

As if people give a shit about what doctors say. They only listen to the TV israelite. If you want Americans to do anything then make ads about it, shove its propaganda into TV shows and movies, and most of all, regulate which goyslop products get peddled on TV through ads. Just doing that one thing will solve 60% of the problem.

Going all in for getting rid of government also doesn't work, or at least not for very long because you find quickly that too many of your neighbors are total buttholes. I don’t think that’s obvious at all. Good just keeps getting more delicious and bad for you. There is so much money in figuring out how to present the right combination of carbs and fats to make people buy your shit.

I do think the government should do something. Of course restricting the size of pizzas is a moronic answer, but rolling back every industrial food innovation since 1930 is probably a great idea.

      >bu…but food will get more expensive

And? If we are going to spend more money on something, the health of everyone should be top priority

      >but that’s not freedom

Neither is Obamacare and shit. If we are not willing to turn people away from emergency rooms for being fat then shut the frick up. We aren’t hard enough for freedom

        Anonymous

It's actually about restricting the calorie content of foods being sold as a single person's portion, not about reducing the size of pizza in general. The article headline takes the angle of what that would mean for a personal sized pizza. And it never happened.
