Keep seething about EBT. While your tax money is funding WW3.

I support welfare programs and encourage their abuse. My only complaint is how annoying EBT customers are at the grocery store (I work in retail). I get it though times are rough.

SNAP/EBT is easy to deal with. It's the WIC voucher people who annoy me. With SNAP, the rules are simple: if it has a 'Nutrition Facts' label and isn't hot prepared food, you can buy it. With WIC, they're restricted to the few items listed on the voucher and they're always trying to cheat, usually just for the sake of cheating.
If it says 'One gallon of fluid milk' on the voucher, there's always going to be someone trying to buy a gallon of fruit punch. They know they can't get fruit punch but they'll pick the busiest time of day where they know dealing with them will cause a huge delay for everyone behind them in line, hoping the cashier will just let them get the fruit punch.
The worst was an elderly Japanese couple who somehow had a WIC voucher. WIC was intended for pregnant or nursing mothers with their babies. Nothing on the voucher matched what the old Japanese couple were trying to get and their ability to speak English disappeared as soon as we tried to explain why they couldn't get tofu in place of cheese or tea in place of milk. The manager eventually got them shifted over to the customer service desk so everyone else in line didn't have to wait for it to get cleared up.
People often say they're mad because they see SNAP people buying Monster Energy or New York Strip steaks and should have to shop from a list of healthy but cheap foods. Having dealt with WIC, I can promise you that if SNAP was similarly restrictive, you'd have a hell of a time ever checking out of the store in a timely manner ever again.

Milo's wasn't commonly purchased at my store with SNAP but that's probably because we sold gallon jugs of store brand sweetened ice tea for about half the price. They loved that shit.

I can promise you that if SNAP was similarly restrictive, your mom would have a hell of a time ever checking out of the store in a timely manner ever again and your meal of tendies and Hot Pockets would be late on shopping days.

Just because you're too poor to afford delivery doesn't mean you should seethe.

It doesn't mean too poor but if you're a qualifing citizen then it's a better use of our own money than it going overseas to some dictator freakjob. I'd rather any money stay here in the states to citizens then go overseas.
You be amazed at what our fricked up government supports across our borders instead of our own people.

Sorry to hear your mom is now charging you for groceries but by age 40 you really should have figured out how to live above the basement stairs.
