Number 1 btw, just a nibble. But I always eat the chicken first, then maybe some of the Mac then the greens. I'll finish the yams late into the meal

I posted this on /adv/. I was wondering why I wasn't getting replies

I don't like yams, so no to those candied ones in the top corner.
I think I'd try those collards first, they look great. So does everything else on that plate except for the yams.

Disgusting. Candied yams are pretty much healthy desserts. Add cinnamon and a little nutmeg and you're fricking golden. never had greens with real bacon, only had them with turkey bacon. Not my kind of mean. Least favorite on the plate

I don't want my potatoes to taste like candy. Sweet potatoes and yams will forever be inferior to regular potatoes. Go ahead and eat those candied yams and I'll have your collard greens.

Normal potatoes are objectively better because of their versatility, but sweet potatoes are really really good. Candied yams, sweet potato fries with a little salt....might try mashed sweet potatoes idk

My aunt does a mix of mashed sweet potatoes and regular potatoes at holidays. I don't care for it but it's always almost completely finished by the end of the meal.
IIRC she doesn't add any sugar to it. Just standard mashed potato ingredients.

          Incorrect. Thighs are objectively better

          >Less meat, so less calories which means you get to eat more of it

It is the greatest pleasure. I love peeling the meat off of bone with my teeth. Stick it between your incisors (not too roughly as it can wear down teeth) and pull on it. I wish I were a cat so I could strip meat from bone with my tongue.

Tear off pieces of the chicken, use your fork to glob some mac on top, and eat it that way. Similar deal with your cornbread and sweet potatoes. The greens can frick right off since 9 times outa 10 they're fricking trash, but if ma makes em, I choke em down first so I don't gotta deal with em later.

It's the blandest grain. In the US like 30% of what they farm. Also the reason for all the HFCS.

Nobody just takes a bite out of corn bread alone, right? You take a bite of it then your chicken and mash them all together in your mouth. The texture and taste combine to something enjoyable. Well I lied. I will take a slice of cornbread and eat it despite it drying out my mouth if I happen to walk by leftovers that probably won't be eaten considering the shit molds so fast.

Yams should be roasted, not candied. Hard pass.
Mac and cornbread look ok, I'd eat those.
Collards are variable, if they're well seasoned and not overcooked they can be good, but usually they're the opposite
The fried chicken is the only good looking food on this plate.

I wouldn't eat any of that aside from the chicken and cornbread. I am guessing that is potatoes in some sort of sweet sauce. I don't like fish nor collared greens and the mac and cheese looks gross and dry.

I was never forced to eat it. My family made it all the time though. Particularly "Mexican cornbread" where you line the skillet with the cornbread mix, add tomatoes, ground beef, onions, etc, then pour the rest of the mix on thee so it is like a pie. I actually only started eating cornbread a few years ago because it goes grat with a tomato base soup I make that is thin and absorbable.

It's smoked turkey. For some reason*, AmeriBlacks not from the South use smoked turkey in their greens while pretty much all Southerners, regardless of race, use either bacon or smoked ham hocks.

            >*I think it's because a lot of non-Southern Ameriblacks either are Mohammedans or know someone who is so they swap the pork for turkey, but I can't be sure this is why
